Win! A luxury UK mini break for two!

Everyone we've spoken to recently has said that they need a holiday. So we've decided to give one away! We've teamed up with our friends at Enjoy Bed & Breakfast to give you a luxury weekend break. They've got hundreds of gorgeous places to stay ranging from cute and quaint to swanky and stylish, so we've had a search and picked a bunch of our favourite locations for one lucky winner to choose from.

You could go to Scotland and stay at My Edinburgh Life.

You could pop down to Bournemouth. If you do, you'll get to stay at The Living Room and play on that chaise longue.

Fancy Taunton in Somerset? Frog Street Farmhouse looks divine.

How about a bit of old school glamour at the Ambassador Townhouse in Southport?

Or if Cheltenham takes your fancy (handy for the races), then we'll put you up in The Colesbourne Inn.

Want to win? Then you need to leave a comment below telling us which of these you'd most like to visit. Click on the links, take a look at each one and then pick your favourite! Please DON'T leave anon comments - we can't get in touch with you if you do. We'll pick a winner at random and you'll get a two night weekend break for two, with breakfast included. You've got until  midnight on Friday August 10th to enter.

Good luck everyone!

Really, really exciting small print:
  • The competition will close at Midnight on Friday 10th August. The winning entry will be chosen at random and you must claim your prize by noon on Monday 13th August or we'll draw it again.

  • Only one entry per person and no cash alternative offered.
  • The holiday is subject to availability and must be booked by 1 December 2012 and taken by March 1 2013. The prize comprises two nights’ accommodation for two adults in a double room with breakfast. The winner may choose a stay at one of 5 luxury B&Bs in the UK.
  • Once a booking has been confirmed no changes are permitted. If a booking is cancelled by you, no alternative booking will be issued and the prize will be deemed to have been used. We offer no cash alternative and prize winners must accept prizes in the form offered. 27. I would love to stay at the Frog Street Farmhouse in Taunton - it looks so beautiful and romantic - exactly what I need at the moment, after moving twice in 2 weeks and again in 6 weeks!!

My bf's parents live in Exeter and it would be great to have an excuse to go and see them!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Edinburgh! My boyfriend lived there for a couple of years and I'd love for him to have such a great excuse to show me around!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Edinburgh! Lots of great memories and can't wait to get back.

  30. It would have to be the Frog Street Farmhouse for me. Lots of reasons why:

    - The name! Frog Street! Joy. I would like to live on Frog Street.
    - The location - I have always wanted to explore Taunton and the mystical history of Somerset
    - The decor - it is just how I imagine my perfect home to look like - wood features, cosy blankeys, seagull ornaments perched on windows
    - The farm - Much fun to be had and fresh farm eggs at brekkie. Double win
    - The Wisteria - again, my dream home would be draped in wisteria....

But mostly - that bath. Mmmm am dreaming of bubbles and champagne and a bloody good book. I need a soak in that bath. DS please make my dreams come true!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Frog street Farmhouse pleasy pleasy please...I have just been made redundant I need some cheering up, this would do the trick

    ReplyDelete
  32. Tauton gets my vote - awesome name and it's where cider is from! Double points in my book x

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'd go for Cheltenham. I'm not really interested in the races, but a really good friend lives who hasn't got room for me to stay at her's so it would be lovely to be able to visit. Also, Le Champignon de Sauvage is in Cheltenham and I could justify going for dinner there with what I'd save on the room. Oh I really want to win now!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I adore Edinburgh. And I think My Edinburgh Life would fit perfectly with my Edinburgh life.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oooh Taunton would be amazing, I've never been to Somerset so I could get my pagan on! xx

    ReplyDelete
  36. I would choose The Colesbourne Inn in Cheltenham as i have never been to that part of the UK and neither has my boyfriend so we can discover it together. Fingers crossed

    ReplyDelete
  37. I adore Edinburgh. And I think My Edinburgh Life would fit perfectly with my Edinburgh life.

    ReplyDelete
  38. They all look wonderful! I think my favourite is The Ambassador Townhouse, which is a bonus since I've never been to Southport. Sounds like perfect stress relief to me!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Wow! The wooden bed at the living room in Bournemouth looks so inviting! I'd love to visit that one!

    ReplyDelete
  40. The Colesbourne Inn looks absolutely charming! Cheltenham has been on my list of places to visit for a while. I'm envisaging a relaxing weekend of charity shopping, afternoon tea-ing, wine drinking and maybe a teeny tiny flutter at the racecourse... dreamy!

    ReplyDelete
  41. My partner and I would love to spend time in Southport. It has been on our "must see list" for a long time; we simply didn't have funds to go there yet. It seems like such a lovely place for nature lovers, love the beaches and footpaths but also we are really keen to try some of the local produce as we both are foodies. Break in Ambassador Townhouse would be such a treat as we also both like old school (I prefer to call it vintage ;P) glamour. :) Thank you for this opportunity and good luck to everyone. :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I would go to Taunton, I used to go to university in Exeter and would love to go back to the area again :)

    ReplyDelete
  45. I've never been to Edinburgh, would love to go!

    ReplyDelete
  46. *sharp intake of breathe* Frog Street Farmhouse: the only time I went to Taunton I worked solidly for 3 days and never saw the lovely little town; plus it's a hop skip n a jump from the coats for some relaxing beach-combing; plus it's cider country; plus we run our own business so need a holiday!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Well, as I currently live on the south coast, used to live in Southport, my parents lived near Taunton for years and I've been to Edinburgh a number of times, it would have to be Cheltenham! But they all look beautiful and well worth a visit.

Perfect timing! Just booked a week's leave from work and wondering where to go. We would choose Frog Street Farmhouse as a luxurious launch pad (the Garden Room looks divine) and leap around Somerset, visiting places that have been on our 'to do' list for years like Wells, Tyntesfield and Hestercombe Gardens.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Oo Southport please! A nice easy drive from Manchester: the beach for me and a fabulous secondhand bookshop to keep my husband happy. Lovely.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Frog Street Farmhouse! Is it on a street full of frogs? I do hope so although that might get messy if I wear heels. Will need to rethink footwear...

But Frog Street all the way for me. I can already smell the Wisteria around the doorway. Ahhhhh.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  118. I'd go to any of these gorgeous gorgeous getaways, (although perhaps Edinburgh way to near my mother) but am crazy for Cheltenham where we sometimes treat ourselves to a wander-about day but never splash out on staying over (I do have a drive-by gaze 'The Hotel' and at the mad-posh, intriguing / strange 'Ellenborough Park' - way out of my league, I'd seriously look like the help there). Would do Jamie O bloke's Courthouse gaff for lunch (his giant olives on ice there are nom) and then to end it off with a night at the Colesbourne would be the UTTERLY PERFECT eve to my kinda day, cherry on the top & seriously lush heaven big treat for me (and man). Colesbourne looks super-cozy rec anyway for a future blowout treat though even if I don't get picked (sigh & tut).

    ReplyDelete
  119. And coming up on the inside rail... The Colesbourne Inn in Cheltenham for me!

A trip to Taunton in pretty Somerset,
Would be just so relaxing I would bet,
Hands held tight to the Glastonbury Tor,
Pop to the Theatre, Castle grounds to explore,
My Aussie fella could go watch the cricket
at the County Ground, bat, ball and wicket,
A grown-up break for the two of us,
with no little people to make a fuss,
A stay in the Farmhouse that's in Frog Street,
For us would be the most perfect treat!! xx

    ReplyDelete
  121. The Ambassador Townhouse in Southport looks ace! The Gormley statues just down the road in Crosby is one of my favourite places in the WORLD and you're not too far from a hearty pan of scouse either.

    ReplyDelete
  122. taunton every time for me mmmmmmmmmmmmm cider!

  123. How do the Living Room produce such perfect poached eggs?! I'd like to go to Bournemouth and learn please! Mine have never turned out looking like that...

    ReplyDelete
  124. Oh. My. Goodness. What an amazing offer. The choice would be much harder to make, except that as the year goes on I'm more and more inclined to stay close to home, just in case I go into labour! This might be a fantastic chance for my husband and I to have a luxurious weekend away, just the two of us, before we are beset with dirty nappies and sleeplessness at the beginning of November. The B&B on your delicious list which is closest to home is the Colesbourne Inn, which happens to also be very near the town where my parents were living when my mum was pregnant with me (spookily circular!) and where I've never been. Also, the menu looks amazing - not that I'm preoccupied with food, oh no. Thanks!
(and it's [email protected] just in case you want to get in touch - I'm a technical dunce so I can't make any of those other options work properly)

    ReplyDelete

My mum has pneumonia and is in a HDU, my husband's dad has a cancerous growth on his head and it needs removing asap (at the grand old age of 93) and we have no spare cash for a break! If I tell you everything else that is stressing us out then you'd think I was making it all up! Please consider us, we could be so grateful...

  137. The one in Edinburgh looks amazing!

  138. Cheltenham would be lovely please :)

  139. I love the Edinburgh one!!

  140. My Edinburgh Life I think wins by a nose but the rest look yummy as well. Rx

  141. Am torn between the Frog Street Farmhouse and the Living Room in Bournemouth... They both look amazing! Bournemouth just wins out though, it's a lovely place, and the rooms look amazing :)

    ReplyDelete
  142. It would have to be the Frog Street Farmhouse in Taunton...cosy window nooks, patchwork quilts and wisteria climbing over the door - it's my dream cottage come to life!

    ReplyDelete
  143. I'd love to have the chance to go back to Edinburgh and My Edinburgh Life is a particularly nice looking way to do it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  144. What a fantastic prize, they all look beautiful but I would pick The Living Room, Bournemouth. I would love a trip to the seaside. Haven't managed to have a holiday in a while an a relaxing weekend would be something lovely to look forward to.

  145. Its been 19 years since I've visited Cheltenham so thats my ideal break.

    ReplyDelete
  146. I was thinking on my way home tonight how much I need a trip north of the border, and it's been far too long since I went to Edinburgh. So I would definitely go there, it's one of my favourite places in the world and I'm a homesick Scot!

    ReplyDelete
  147. It would have to be Somerset, I love it so much down there!

    ReplyDelete
  148. After spending far too long looking at the different options and daydreaming about romantic breaks I think I have finally decided that Frog Street Farmhouse in Taunton is my favourite. It's exactly how I hope my home when I 'grow up' will be. And that bath! Oh my, if we won I don't think I would leave the bathtub for the whole stay.

  149. Would love to stay at my Edinburgh life please!

    ReplyDelete
  150. These all look mega-swanky, but as i've never been to Scotland, I would have to choose My Edinburgh Life for a brief jaunt up to the north :)

    ReplyDelete
  151. I'd like to sip a G n T on the terrace at The Colebourne Inn and perhaps induldge in a little afternoon tea and cake while looking at the lovely views.

    ReplyDelete
  152. The Living Room in Bournemouth looks lovely. Please can I go there?

    ReplyDelete
  153. It was my birthday yesterday and I had to cancel all plans (for the whole week) thanks to a nasty sinus infection. A minibreak at my edinburgh life would make me feel MUCH better.

    ReplyDelete
  154. To be honest any of them would be a fabulous break for me and my boyfriend. We have been together for a year and because of working conflicting hours have NEVER had a night together followed by a long lazy morning... I think for that, the bed at The Colesbourne Inn looks most comfy!

    ReplyDelete
  155. I'd love to stay at My Edinburgh Life, it looks lovely and I've never been to Edinburgh!

    ReplyDelete
  156. I want to say in Edinburgh - cant believe Ive never been !

    ReplyDelete
  157. The Living Room in Bournemouth please! We Londoners need to see the sea again, it's been too long.

Ooooh Edinburgh please! My boyfriend and I have never been on a break that doesn't involve visiting family, and Edinburgh is the furthest one from all the family down south mwahaha! :)

    ReplyDelete
  159. I'd love to go the The Living Room in Bournemouth as we haven't been to the seaside in yonks, but it's a bit far away. My Edinburgh Life would be amazing instead - it's gorgeous and relatively close to the Zoo - pandas!

    ReplyDelete
  160. I would love to stay in my Edinburgh Life - I went to university in the City, and my mind often wanders there while I'll sat at work... I'd like my feet to do the same!

On top of the beautiful surroundings in a stunning city I'd get to touch base all those gorgeous friends I never seem to get to see despite our best intentions... recipe for a perfect weekend? I think so.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Edinburgh!! It would be lovely to get away with my other half to celebrate our 6 years together (and it been 5 since we've had a 'real' holiday), plus I can do some sneaky shopping on the side :)

    ReplyDelete
  162. Ooohhh Edinburgh definitely. Used to crash there on friends' floors when we were students but less acceptable now I'm masquerading as a proper grown up.

Boyfriend is away training with the army until late November, and I have a big decision coming up at work in October, so it would be the perfect get-away after all of that!

    ReplyDelete
  163. Edinburgh, methinks - although Somerset would also be fun... Tricky!

    ReplyDelete
  164. .......oh yes please! the Frog Street Farmhouse in Somerset for me! It looks soooo lovely although they all do!

    ReplyDelete
  165. I'd love to go to Edinburgh with my sister - it was one of our late grandfather's favourite places, he used to go to the festival there every year and my sister and I have never been so it would be lovely to go there together in his memory. My sister has also been feeling rather down recently so a sisters' weekend away in a lovely b&b sounds like the perfect uplifting getaway!

    ReplyDelete
  166. I would *love* to win a weekend at the Colesbourne Inn and surprise my husband for our very first wedding anniversary... The Cotswolds are one of my favourite areas, and living abroad now, we don't get to go there often enough because we don't have people to stay with. Fingers crossed!

    ReplyDelete
  167. An Edinburgh getaway would be perfect!

    ReplyDelete
  168. Oh crikey! Decisions have never been my strong point! I think I would have to plump for Bournemouth. The Living Room looks fab, quaint, quirky, quixotic (?, starts with a 'Q') and any opportunity to hit the seaside and splash the contents of my penny jar in the arcades, cannot be missed! Mmmmmm, fish and chips....

    ReplyDelete
  169. It would have to be Edinburgh for me. After finally reclaiming my husband from the Olympic Opening Ceremony (8 months of him coming home once every 6 weeks) we urgently need some 'us' time together. In reality it may be more like, he will sleep and I will shop for cool little housey things but at least we'd be in the same city for a change :-)...

  170. I would love to go to Southport. I love the seaside and have good memories of visiting there as a kid.

    ReplyDelete
  171. It's got to be Bournemouth for me. It is wear my husband took me 6 and a half years ago when we first started dating. We have always said we would love to go back.

    ReplyDelete
  172. My Edinburgh Life in Scotland pleeeease! We've never visited before and it would be a perfect excuse to hook up with my bestest friend from school!!! Kate

    ReplyDelete
  173. I actually haven't been to any of these places.... Our 5 day staycation got ruined this year with my boyfriend having a repeat illness and he's been in an out of hospital all year. We're going to give it another go once he's better and I'd love to take him to The Frog Street Farmhouse please!! x

    ReplyDelete
  174. I love Scotland! Send me to Edinburgh please! My Edinburgh life looks wonderful x

    ReplyDelete
  175. My husband and I try to escape for a beach weekend every January to lift our spirits in the dark days, so I'd love to take him to Bournemouth! I might not leave that coffee lounge.

    ReplyDelete
  176. I desparately, desparately want to go to Edinburgh and see the pandas.
    Dawn

    ReplyDelete
  177. Definitely The Living Room in Bournemouth... perfect location for mine and boyfriend's graduation in November, and a great way to relax after three years of hard work - that bed looks amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  178. Oh wow <3! I would love to got to Scotland! But really all the places look devine! xx

    ReplyDelete
  179. My Edinburgh life looks fabulous! I would love to visit Scotland!

    ReplyDelete
  180. The Colesbourne Inn. And not because it's the only one that shows pictures of food. Honest. I'd love to take my hubby away for a romantic weekend in the Cotswolds, and that inn looks perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  181. My Edinburgh Life would be delightful. haggis and battered Mars bars please!

    ReplyDelete
  182. Edinburgh would be my choice, with Bournemouth & Southport as a close 2nd. They all look stunning, and would make a super break. I have received amazing news this morning & could do with a celebration! :)

    ReplyDelete
  183. Edinburgh looks amazing :)

    ReplyDelete
  184. It would have to be the Frog Street Farmhouse, just gorgeous. Forgetting all worries over a glass of something in a peaceful English garden would be perfect! :)

    ReplyDelete
  185. Yorkie-Yorkie Yorkshire, good cheese and kendal mint cake!

    ReplyDelete
  186. They do all look fabulous, and would all be great, for different reasons. But I'd love to go to The Living Room in Bournemouth. There is just something so special (and slightly naughty in a very British way) about a weekend at the seaside.

    ReplyDelete
  187. Well this is a tricky one. Since I am off to Edinburgh for work shortly, I think that I shall opt for the other end of the UK and Frog Street Farmhouse... in my favourite part of the world. It looks perfectly serene and after a hectic summer that is exactly what I need!

    ReplyDelete
  188. I've wanted to go to Edinburgh since reading One Day. And the place has a garden, so it would be just perfect!

On my, what a decision. Eenie, meenie, meini, mo! I can't do it, they all look so lovely. But seeing as you are twisting my arm, I'll have to say the My Edinborough Life one. My husband and I (that sounds funny - we are newlyweds) have always said we would like to go and spend some quiet time away in Scotland. Evelyn

  190. I feel spoilt with choice! But if forced to pick one... I choose The Living Room in Bournemouth. Quite far from the sea where I am, so I want to go splash and get my feet wet! Fill my face with their to-die-for food, get comfy and cosy on that chaise longue and relax with a nice glass of red in hand, pretty please :) x

    ReplyDelete
  191. Definitely the Colesbourne Inn for me. True British period pub and B & B with character, comfort and style. My daughter has never been to the Cotswolds so it would be a perfect opportunity to show her around (and for me to be spoilt :-))
