Sluttishly Snug: Butterfly Home by Matthew Williamson

Since it got noticeably colder and the nights darker earlier, I've been on a mission to find the snuggliest blankets and cosiest bedding. In short, I wanted functional jersey, flannel and wool which isn't the most visually exciting. But then I got distracted by an unexpected source. I was comparing electric blankets on the Debenhams website when, like a magpie, my eye was drawn to something pretty.

Something pretty by Matthew Williamson.

Dear reader, no one is more shocked than I but how inviting does this bed look?
And how non Matthew Williamson does it look? The answer to both of those questions is 'Very'. This style is called 'British Affair' and it reminds me of country house tapestries or those old upholstered chairs that you very much want to sit on but are worried might break. It's rather sumptuous but not gaudy. It also looks a lot more expensive than it is. A double set costs £50.

Want something even more colourful? We love a toile print on all kinds of things and I'm rather taken with the grey and pink used in this set. I wouldn't have styled it with the throw though. It doesn't need it.
A double set in this also costs £50.

What about the cushions though? I'm not a fan of scatter cushions on beds but I want them all over my sofa. Especially this peacock one.
At £35, I'd be more than happy to have this perching on my sofa while I snuggled up under the throw from the Toile picture above. Dark winter needs all the colour it can get!
