Bollocks to Baking: Flour Power
Flour Power is one of my favourite bakeries in London. For one reason: The tastiest banana cake I've ever eaten in my entire life. I'm a huge fan of banana cake (in fact, any cake that'll make me feel like I'm getting in one of my five a day). Flour Power do something so wonderfully genius with theirs that it tastes like nothing you've ever tasted before.
Y'see, they bake it twice, which somehow magically makes for the moistest cake you'll ever eat in your life. I've tried their other cakes too, and whilst they're all tasty, none of them are a patch on their banana cake. I want to steal the recipe and share my banana cake with no one. You keep your mits off.
Want to try their cakes? They often pop up at food festivals and markets (check out their extensive list here), but Borough Market is their flagship stall. They also sell their treats in London shops, so head to Fresh & Wild if that's nearer. Do it, it'll be the best thing you ever do. Cakewise, at least.

Oh gals - thought this meant there was a recipe!!
ReplyDeleteIf only! There is a banana loaf recipe on the site, but it's nowhere near as good. Nothing I bake will EVER be as good as Flour Power's banana cake :-(
