Creighton's Chocolaterie

One of the perks of being a Domestic Slut is having to eat chocolate FOR A JOB. It's really not a bad life. Especially when the chocolate comes from the whimsical and very skilled folk at Creighton's Chocolaterie.

The chocolates are prettily packaged in dainty patterned tissue, hand stamped boxes and tied up with stripey string.

We started with a mini box of truffles - a silky cappucino cup and a smooth white chocolate ganache infused with basil. Both were well balanced, despite the strong flavours.

The unexpected highlight was a bar of milk chocolate called The Mexican. As soon as I snapped off a square I caught a waft of lime. Once it melted on my tongue it was creamy, rich, zesty and then SPICY. I'd never have thought milk chocolate would go with lime and chilli, but what do I know?

The dark chocolate moustache lollipops were also a winner. Dark and sophisticated, but not too bitter.
Creighton's certainly know their flavours and I like their quirky style. All the chocolates are hand-made and perfect for pressies. Or just to scoff yourself.

Creighton's Chocolaterie is at 24 High Street, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire LU7 1DN
Buy online at www.wearecreightons.com
The chocolate moustache costs £2, The Mexican £2.25 and a box of 6 truffles £7.50.

  1. LOVE Creightons - Leighton Buzzard is my hometown, it's such a lovely place - full of indie shops like this. If you ever find yourself in South Beds, it's defo worth a pop in!
