Sluttishly Simple: Tartar Sauce

So me and the mister had a fight. It wasn't a biggie, don't worry (thanks for your immediate and obvious concern, of course). But, still, I hate fighting with him, but I guess it happens every now and again. In an effort to build some little bridges, I set about making some tartar sauce. I know what you're thinking - it's something of an odd peace offering.

Unless your mister just so happens to ruddy bloody love the blooming stuff.

So, out with Asda's Extra Special tartar (which, as it happens, is pretty darn good!), and in with Carrie's extra-special peace offering tartar. I added extra capers (because nothing says "I love you, I'm sorry" like extra capers, right?), but this is the basic recipe.

Capers work, trust me. All will be forgiven.

You'll need:
  • Small jar of mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp capers
  • 2 tbsp mini gerkins
  • 2 tbsp peppers
  • 2 tbsp of finely shopped parsley
  • 2 tbsp onion
  • 2 tbsp of lemon juice
  • Plenty of black pepper
Make it!
  • This barely needs instructions - simply finely chop everything up and combine all of the ingredients together, crack plenty of pepper into the mix, and leave to chill in the fridge for at least an hour before serving to let all the flavours settle.
