Design Porn: Bodo Sperlein Macaroon ceramics

Oh yum. There's something about Bodo Sperlein's work that induces intense sugar cravings. Well, that 'something' isn't too tricky to spot, as the Macaroon collection clearly takes its inspiration from my favourite sweet treat. The link is most obvious in the Macaroon lidded box which comes ready for a filling of your choice. Made for Japanese porcelain company Nikko, they're available through The Hambledon. An 8cm box will cost you £23 while a 11cm box is £35.

The rest of this bone china range also uses those gorgeous washes of colour to mouth-watering effect. In fact, with the sugar bowl pictured, available for £30, and pourers, the Macaroon range includes everything you might want for taking the most dainty of teas.

Here are the plates. Priced at £13 each, they are ready to be piled high with the prettiest delicacies, and come at a cost equivalent to a box of your fanciest macarons too.

Even your regular coffee will seem that bit more indulgent in this espresso cup and saucer, yours for £27.

Based in London's Oxo Tower, take a look at Bodo Sperlein's website for the full range of ceramics, including this wonderful spoon set. It's all good enough to eat.
