Win! ALL of our Christmas presents AND a night in a boutique hotel

On the 12th day of Christmas, Domestic Sluttery gave to me... ALL of the Christmas presents and a night in a boutique hotel!

We are so full of Christmas cheer. We're rocking around our Christmas trees, dinging on merrily on high and giving Santa Claus a massive snog. Most importantly, we're giving away ALL of our Christmas presents to one lucky winner.

In true generation game style, here's a quick recap of what you could win: Quartz earrings from Boticca, a £50 voucher from Shoes International, a leather bag from Flights of Nancy, Tunnock's homewares from Quince Living, a silk scarf from Karen Mabon, a map print from We Are Dorothy, classic cocktails from Maverick Drinks, vintage Christmas decorations from Pedlars, a Christmas turkey and all the trimmings from Donald Russell, a table lamp from Hunkydory Home and a sailor dress from Coco Fennell!

But that's not all! You'll also win a night away in one of Hotel du Vin's gorgeous hotels across the country.

How about a trip to Edinburgh (yep, the hotel is a converted asylum with a private dining room called Bedlam) or staying right on the sea in Brighton? We love the Cambridge property as well. Where else can you stay? There are 14 hotels across the country to choose from - as far south as Winchester and as far north as Glasgow. Each hotel is unique, each location has an interesting story (and a brilliant bistro to boot). No matter where you choose to stay, you'll have a fabulous night away.

This brilliant prize is worth over £1000 so we're going to spread a little Christmas cheer and donate some money to Shelter. Head over to our JustGiving Christmas page where you'll be able to buy a raffle ticket for £2. Every ticket is an entry to the competition (please don't Gift Aid - JustGiving can refund your money if you do) and every penny goes straight to Shelter, a charity doing quite brilliant work over the festive season.

You've got until 2pm on Friday to buy your raffle ticket and then we'll announce the winner later that day. We want to raise as much money for Shelter as possible (last year we raised over £4500!) so do share the competition so we can get everyone involved and we can help those less fortunate at Christmas.

Good luck everyone! And Merry Christmas!

Important small print (please read it, it takes bloody ages to write). We can't stress this enough, please don't Gift Aid your donation - JustGiving clearly states that because you're getting in something in return for your donation, it's not eligible for Gift Aid. The competition will close at 2pm (UK time) on Friday 20 December 2013. The prize is only available to UK readers and because of the booze, you must be over 18. The winning entry will be chosen at random and you must claim your prize by Sunday 22nd otherwise we'll pass it on to someone else. Now, a note about prizes: we might not send you a turkey because there's no guarantee it'll arrive before Christmas, but we will send you another prize of similar value. Ditto with the dress - if the sailor dress is no longer available in your preferred style, Coco Fennell will send something equally excellent. Your stay with Hotel du Vin is for one night at any of their 14 hotels (excludes Saturdays and Bank holidays) and breakfast is included (travel isn't). You get one entry per £2 raffle ticket and you can buy as many as you like but do make sure you leave an email address on your JustGiving entry, no one else will be able to see it, but we need to get in touch with you if you win. We're not allowed to enter our own competitions but you bet your ass we're going to donate lots of money to Shelter.

    1. No, we really mean DON'T add it. Because you get something in return for your donation (in this case a raffle ticket), donations aren't eligible for Gift Aid.

  2. Agh! Mine auto-added gift aid. Page kept crashing and it auto ticked the box and I didn't notice :(

Have told them but if it can't be fixed will donate again.

    1. We wish they had an option for the pageowners to refuse GiftAid. I think they're more concerned when it's someone donating millions, we're just trying to do things by the rules so everyone's generous donation goes to Shelter!

  3. Never fear - they removed it. Hurrah!

    1. Brilliant, thanks Anon! It makes us sound so mean to refuse it but we don't argue with the tax rules! Thanks so much for donating.

  4. If you make an error with your giftaid (as I did - it auto-added it because I'm a page-owner) you can just call this number - 0845 078 2063 - with the email reference number you should have been sent, and they'll remove the gift-aid immediately.

  5. Gift-aid accident here as well. Needs to be done within 24 hours apparently.

  9. Hi there, I've just made a donation and meant to say good luck, not goo luck! I've never used the JustGiving site before so when it asked for my email I thought they may mean paypal so had a couple of goes before realising it must be the JustGiving email. Anyway, got there in the end but it might help if you point it out together with Paypal as an option as I can't be the only one who gets confused if you ask me to do something new. No idea if I left an email in the right place either. I did take off the Gift Aid so at least I got something right. Hope you exceed your target :-)

  10. I've just discovered that the site has processed my donation three times via paypal. As it's good cause I don't mind too much but do beware if it gets stuck on the payment page.

  11. Ah, I have had the same problem as above, it automatically added gift aid! I kept checking for a point at which I could opt out. Am onto JustGiving so hopefully they'll be able to sort it out :)
