Cocktail Hour: Chocolate and Hazelnut Martini

Nothing compares to a classic martini - clean, crisp and refreshing. But in honour of Chocolate Week, may I present to you the Chocolate and Hazelnut Martini. It's sweet but not sickly, and a delicious end to a dinner party instead of - or even as well as - dessert.

You'll need:
  • 50ml vanilla vodka
  • 10ml crème de cacao
  • 10ml frangelico
  • Cocoa powder
Shake it!
  • Wet the rim of the martini glass and dip it into the cocoa powder.
  • Mix the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into the glass.
You end up with a creamy, smooth cocktail that tastes worryingly non-alcoholic. You can use normal vodka, but vanilla vodka makes it taste sweeter and like a chocolate cake in a glass. Mmmm....

  4. I have the chocolate cocktails there, they're really good. The best one I've had is in Dirty Martini in Covent Garden, but the service can be pretty bad if it's busy!
