Beautiful Bigger Bras

After writing about Bravissimo's free fitting service earlier in the week, it seems that a lot of you ladies have larger breasts, but can't find pretty bras to keep them in. As I've just been bumped up to a 32E I understand this, but there are some pretty options. Here are a few of my favourites (and don't worry, we'll get to you more petite ladies next week!)

A lot of you asked for something a little more delicate than the Bravissimo range. Ellae McPherson's Intimates line goes from a D-G and this blue lace bra is much more dainty than some. But I warn you, that model isn't wearing a very large size, and you might want to treat this as 'bedroom underwear, rather than something you wear all day. It's £40 from ASOS.

Figleaves are such a good place to start for pretty lingerie in larger sizes, but Bravissimo stock this Panache bra too. It's delicate but still sexy. And £28 which is a bargain. I'm quickly learning that the bigger the bra, the more expensive they become. Still, this one goes up to a K cup.

Ooooh this sheer balconette by Fantasie is sexy. Goes up to a G, but Figleaves are running low on stock. Understandable, just look how lovely! £54 though.

DimitySO are a fantastic brand (stocked by both Figleaves and John Lewis). They go up to a J cup, and this black number is very sexy. You can see more of their range on their website, but you might not be able to find everything in their UK stores which is a shame. This bra is £30.

Grey isn't a colour I pick for underwear, but looking at this grey bra from the Gorgeous range at Debenhams, I really should. This goes up to a 40G and it's £30.

After being worried I wouldn't find any sexy smalls in my new size, I am cheered. But I'll be on the lookout for more sexiness. Got any fancy lingerie shops that cater for bigger breasts? tell me about them!

  1. i discovered beautiful bigger bras a year or so ago, shortly after i realised that my measurements were an obscene 30F. fantasie and fauve, though pricey, have fast become firm favourites. figleaves is excellent for buying beautiful bigger bras on the internet too.

  2. Just as an aside: her in the duck egg blue sheer balconette bra - where are her nips? Unless she's got very oddly positioned ones, I think they've been airbrushed out. :p

  3. I really rate the Debenhams range: fashionable and sturdy enough for every day. They are my first stop for an affordable bra, on a par with Bravissimo but cheaper.

One thing I have to search for is, because I am short in the body, the straps must shorten more than a few inches (which rules out frilly straps). Otherwise the cups are too low for my chest.

  4. You can also try...

Primark...they do some very pretty 50s inspired balconettes in DD-G cup

    Matalan...also go up to a G cup

(Surprisingly) I got a pretty very Dita von Teese one from Asda (also up to G cup!

  5. Freya are a brilliant brand - do really good swimwear too

  6. Lots of bras now cater for bigger cup sizes, but often don't go above a 40. What about 42/44 DD/E??? Any ideas anyone?

  7. I love this post! When a few years ago (I should probably go again!) that I too am an obscene 30f I thought there would be nothing for me, and being on a student budget doesn't help! I find masquerade, the brand you mentioned in the last post, do great ones particularly for smaller back sizes. And I find figleaves does great swimwear for the ladies that can't get away with string bikinis. Great post!

  8. I'm a 34JJ usually so very limited as to were I can buy, however now I am pregnant I am looking at parachutes as NOWHERE on the highstreet goes big enough! They can't even measure them! Happy husband though.

  9. How about pretty bras for a tiny breasted women? I'm only a 30B and so far I've only been able to find my size in Marks and Spencers (weirdly uncomfortable) or teenagers brands (embarrassing and ugly!)
If you know anywhere that does sexy bras for little women I'd love to know!

  10. Pregnant Anonymous - try Royce or Emma Jane for maternity and nursing bras. Figleaves stock both. They're not the prettiest things but they do the job!

  11. My problem is also if you have a back under 34 they don't go above a D... any suggestions beyond my beloved Debenhams welcome!

Thanks for the ASDA tip- their celeb ranges (Jordan erk before Dita- but meh, big boobs is big boobs) fit well and are value.

  12. While What Katie Did's sizing is a little peculiar (they use traditional methods, which mean the band size number is 4/5 inches bigger than your body!) they do cater for larger cup sizes. It just takes a bit of mental arithmetic and guesswork to figure out which size is the right one for you!

  13. What I yearn for is something with no lace - a smooth line so I don't look like bosom has been pebbledashed. All is either padded (yes, so what the DD+ person is after) or some revolting beige 'nude' colour. Help me!

  14. At a 30FF, the main problem I have isn't cup size, it's back size. A lot of places assume because someone has a large cup size, they must have a wide back which isn't always the case. Or most places start at a 32 back. You can go up a back and down a cup size when that happens but it's annoying.
I think the British bra manufacturers and stockists need to catch up with the changing needs of women.
Kath- Freya do good dd+ bras in pretty colours without padding. I think John Lewis stock them and Bravissimo have some. I'm the opposite in liking a bit of padding for shape

  15. I find that Elle Macpherson's bras run very small in size and I've atually never seen one on a clothes rack bigger than a size 14DD (36DD) in Australia. She makes lovely bras, but they're just not true to size.

  16. OK ladies, we hear you! I'd already mentioned that we were doing a post on smaller boobs this coming week, but the week after we'll do more unusual sizes (30ffs and 40bs etc) so you'll hopefully all find something you like.

It's tough to cater for all of you in one post, but hopefully we've found stuff (or at least) shops that you ladies like!

  17. Agree with Julia, Elle Mac does run very small in size. Shame as they are very lovely and the perfect shape for the bigger bust. (Or they would be if we could cram them in.)
