Remember last week we showed you some awesome lampshade from The Old Lamp Shed? Well the lovely Zia got in touch and asked if we'd like to give a lampshade away to one of you. Yes please! But which one should we give away?
This Orla Kiely car lampshade?
Or this vintage alphabet print?
What about this bird and butterfly print?
You know what? I can't decide. So instead, you guys get to choose which one you want instead! You don't have to pick one of those above, you can choose any from the shop. Just leave us a comment telling me which lampshade from The Old Lamp Shed you'd choose, and we'll pick a winner at random. The winner will get to pick their favourite lampshade on the site to the value of £45 and everyone at Domestic Sluttery will be very jealous. If you're in the US/Europe you can play as well, but please pick a shade under 12 inches so it can be shipped to you. Just make sure you enter by 6pm GMT today.
Good luck, everyone!

I love love LOVE that vintage alphabet one, so that's the one I'd choose :D
ReplyDeleteThe car one! The car one! Awesome and retro but still a clean modern design. I feel the love for this one.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterfly and bird print please!
ReplyDeleteI would choose the world map lamp shade. I just love maps. Im always getting distraced when navigating by looking at the map. Plus on my wall i have a big world and europe maps with pins of where i have been (Not many yet) and where i want to go (lots).
ReplyDeleteOoh, the birdy one! It's so pretty and quirky.
ReplyDeleteOOh I love all of these! Would def have to be the skeletal system one for me though, it's just gorgeous! x x
ReplyDeletehttp://www.etsy.com/shop/MadamSalami
Butterfly and bird! Absolutely beautiful. I love most of the shades in their retro collection.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I'd choose one of the Cavallini paper lampshades -- most likely the map of the world!
ReplyDeleteI would choose Cath Kidston blue candy flowers. It's gorgeous! I happen to have a standard lamp with no shade. Just sayin'. ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe bird and butterfly print one! That way I'd feel that Spring is just around the corner and have a spring in my step!
ReplyDeleteOo the London one is lovely! Nice vintagey feel to it. x
ReplyDeleteWow so many beauties, it's tough to choose. I'd love the paper world map, so lovely!
ReplyDeleteThe vintage alphabet one is a winner for me! :) So pretty!
ReplyDeleteId have to choose the car one! This would please both me and my car mad boyfriend. I'd love it because it's retro and cool and he'd love it because it features vehicles...Aah domestic bliss eh! x
ReplyDeleteI love the newspaper one - great for a study or a reading room (if I had one...).
ReplyDeleteCath Kidston's briar rose is a favourite of mine - so that one!!
ReplyDeleteI'll have the Calligraphy lampshade please. There's something very beautiful and make-believe about those old letters.
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly and bird print is just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOoo, the Secret Message one, with "You Turn Me On..." as the message that comes up... Perfect for mid-hot date... xxx
ReplyDeleteMy daughter has just informed me we have to have the Kokeshi for her room but i love the little rocket boy shade the best. I want one for every room, why did i not know about this site before!!!
ReplyDeleteOooh love the Amy Butler ones - not sure which one though! perhaps the paisley style one shown in the retro section. Really love all of these!
ReplyDeleteCan we pick a bespoke one? I've got some gorgeous fabric offcuts that I've been meaning to make a shade with but I'm so uncrafty it will surely end in tears and a mess...
ReplyDeleteBird and Butterfly Print Please!!
ReplyDeleteI would live to win the washed roses fabric lampshade :)
ReplyDeleteVanessa Cox
You marvellous sluts...
ReplyDeleteMy wonderful boyfriend bought me the Cath Kidston Cowboy duvet set for our bed for Christmas and I have spied that there is a lampshade to match on this magical website!
Matching the duvet with the lampshade? That is ULTIMATE accessorising - and you ladies could MAKE this happen and be part of the dream!
I would love the vintage alphabet shade
ReplyDeleteHello Lovelies!
ReplyDeleteI'd choose the old school style map of the world, because it reminds me of my Poppa's atlas, and making plans to visit the world. And because i've just realised after many hours of filing my self assessment, i've been got by some scam, so i'm going to need a pretty potent mixture of cake and wine to cheer me up, and this lamp would be the cherry on top!
Penelope x x x
Ooh, that's a really hard decision--I like all of them! But I think the vintage alphabet one would probably go best with my random collection of kitsch!
ReplyDeleteI would be all about the Candy Cupcake shade. One of the biggest shocks when moving from NYC to Germany was the complete lack of cupckaes. I didn't realize how much I would miss my occasional pick-me-up covered in frosting :).
ReplyDeleteI think these lampshades are ace ace ace.
ReplyDeleteI'd love a World Map Lampshade, it would look beautiful hanging in the hallway.
www.sagasstudio.net
The Secret message lampshade is just genius, I love all the cute patterns too but I like the little bit of magic with the secret message lampshade even though it's quite plain.
ReplyDeleteI'm such a kid at heart! *LOL*
I'd definitely choose the London fabric shade, as I now live in Newcastle and miss home so much!
ReplyDeleteFunky Bird, its so cute!
ReplyDeleteIt would have to be the small sailboat shade. Having transformed both my bathroom and my garden shed into beach huts this would be a starting point, and the inspiration for my bedroom.
ReplyDeleteOH WOW!! I would love the Cavllini vintage butterfly lampshade please. It would look lovely on my poor old 5ft lamp base which needs a new lampshade to make it feel new again!!....thanks..x
ReplyDeleteCaroline.
very very difficult decision, I think I would go with the orange vintage cars though, very uber. I love them all!
ReplyDeleteOooo I am torn between the Michael Miller hearts one and the Cath Kidston sailing boats, which gives me a warm nostalgic feeling. But ask me again in 2 minutes and I'm bound to have picked another. Lovely x
ReplyDeleteCompletely adore the bird and butterfly print lamp shade as am currently obsessed with bird fabric and prints and birds in my garden in fact. Just got a bevy of little goldfinches eating nyger seeds in the garden which are stunningly lovely!
ReplyDeleteMichael Miller Chinese girl is so cute!
ReplyDeleteSuch choice - I've been browsing the site for far too long! Finally settled on the Martini Lampshade /Amy Butler fabric, phew!
ReplyDeleteMy imagination is always caught by old letters and postcards - long forgotten confidences and pleasantries, so the snippet of an envelope set off beautifully by the birds and butterflies in the 3rd of the 3 pictures would be the one for me! :-)
ReplyDeleteJem xXx
I am in LOVE with the bird and butterfly shade. I'm just about to buy a place with Mr Man who is determined to make the place "manly" but this would assert my authority in girliness.
ReplyDeleteAll their shades are fabulous. I love the CK cowboy and London designs, but think I would have to go for the linen newsprint since it would so uit our loungeroom packed with books!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the alphabet one - who doesn't want to be reminded of the joy of primary school every single day?
ReplyDeleteThey're all so nice, love the provence rose, it would go well in my bedroom. x
ReplyDeleteI was actually going to buy the bird and butterflies shade when you posted it the other day! Just moved into a new house and trying to make it feel mine, really want to place interesting things around the house so I always have something pretty to look at! xx
ReplyDeleteOoops, pressed the "Post" button too quickly in my excitment. Now I can even be contacted if I'm the lucky one!
ReplyDeleteOooh gosh, the bird and butterfly print for sure, i love that shabby chic look!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the bird and butterfly. It is beautiful and will go perfectly in our newly decorated bedroom.
ReplyDeleteI love pretty much all of those designs but, if forced to choose, I think I'd pick the old map. Or maybe the skeletal system one. Or the old alphabet. Oh crumbs!
ReplyDeleteOo it's gotta be a Cavallini paper lampshade for me, in the world map print. My boyfriend would LOVE that and as much as I'd love a twee one, he's probably had enough of my 'floral tat' as he calls it all over the house! And I did promise him a new lamp for his desk...
ReplyDeleteThey are all stunning but I would have to pick the butterfly and bird one - classy :)
ReplyDeleteBird and Butterfly - so pretty! Makes me happy just looking at it :)
ReplyDeleteThat bird and butterfly one is gorgeous. I thought originally I'd love to win it for my friend Emma, but the more I look at it the more I think I'd keep it myself...
ReplyDeleteAdore this Michael Miller number: http://www.flickr.com/photos/from-the-old-lamp-shed/4321520503/
ReplyDeleteNot because of the time of year, just because it's cheerful and multi-coloured and makes me smile. :)
I would love the cavalini paper ones or the newspaper linen. I'm actually trying to find places for them to go.
ReplyDeletePaula F
Loving these. I really like the purple one with camera's printed onit. It would look great in my living room once we've decorated. Going for a splash of purple in our new house :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd go for the London landmarks one.
ReplyDeleteI'd love the secret one - printed with "always look on the bright side of life" Just love that one as it's one of my old Dad's favourite sayings
ReplyDeleteI have just papered a vintage wooden sewing box in Orla Kiely's stem print, so I'd choose the stem print shade to add a wow to my workspace!
ReplyDeleteI would have the Orla Kiely stem one - it is just so lush
ReplyDeleteThey might be a bit more manly, but I'd love the newspaper print lampshade. I'm writing my first book, and the shade is guaranteed to inspire me to get cracking in these dark, chilly evenings.
ReplyDeleteThe newspaper print one is for me! I work with the press and this'll prove that taking your work home with you can sometimes have a good side...
ReplyDeleteOrla please!
ReplyDeleteOh exciting! I love the Orla Kiely little flower one, but I think the Orla Kiely ones may be too big? If so the Amy Butler Martini one is also fab. As are the 'manly' ones you featured the other day (but they wouldn't go in my flat) :)
ReplyDeleteI had such fun looking, but I've got Italy on my mind today - so it would have to be the Italy Map lampshade.
ReplyDeleteI've got just the spot for one of those Newspaper Linen lampshades...
ReplyDeleteDefinatly, definatly the bird and butterfly one. It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThey're all lovely, but as I'm a big fan of the Cavallini papers and am in need of gift ideas for my nephew's birthday, I'd choose the vintage ABC lampshade for his bedroom.
ReplyDeleteOOoh so purdy!!
ReplyDeleteI would adore the pink diamond ice-cream cone one! I love all things sweet and I promise I would give it a good home :D Plus my whole bedroom is pink so it would feel right at home!
xoxo
I'd choose the 12" Amy Butler lacework lampshade. It would be perfect to replace my old tattered shade in the sitting room.
ReplyDeleteJ'adore the newspaper print one. I'd love to be curled up reading a book by the light of a lamp with that shade!
ReplyDeleteThe newspaper print one http://www.flickr.com/photos/from-the-old-lamp-shed/5217404575/
ReplyDeleteToo too cool.
The butterfly and bird shade is fabulous and match the colours in my bedroom perfectly!
ReplyDeletethe vintage labels one is rather super and would look great in my new home! x
ReplyDeleteHow do you expect us to choose just one!? It's like choosing a favourite kitten.
ReplyDeleteThat said, my boyfriend loves the calligraphy carte postale one so I'd have to go with that one, for him.
Oh I love it! My favourite is definitely the Amy Butler Bliss Love one. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt would have to be the Amy Butler French Wallpaper - at least one of those greens will match one of the many, many greens my landlord has painted my lounge.
ReplyDeleteI'd choose the Calligraphy Shade Detail - because it's manly.
ReplyDeleteI've had The old Lamp Shed web page open on a tab since your post just waiting for me to pluck up the courage to purchase a few. As my living room in my new home (which i moved into 9 days ago) has a distinct scientific and antique feel (vintage maps, a phrenology head, butterfly specimens) I would have to go for the Skeleton Cavallini shade. It would go so well on top of my tripod lamp stand.
ReplyDeleteooh ooh ooh ooh! Love them all. Id chose the world map one, heart maps!
ReplyDeletexx
The birdy one. It's birdy beauiful x
ReplyDeleteI really, REALLY want the Cavallini paper post card design! Anything that shines with French I must have...
ReplyDeleteDefinitely go for the skeletal system lampshade, even if it's 'a little more manly'. Educational and fun.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the Michael Miller hearts one... so bright and cheerful
ReplyDeleteI would totally choose the newsprint one. My front room is my 'library', with wall-to-wall bookshelves, so it would be just the thing.
ReplyDeleteooh. amy butler's pressed flowers for me!!
ReplyDeleteI love the Cavallini 'funky birds' print one! Well, I love most of them, but if I only get to pick one...
ReplyDeleteI adore the newspaper lampshade, it seems very fitting for a compulsive reader.
ReplyDeleteI would really love the Cavallini skeleton shade please!
ReplyDeleteVintage Labels for me please. Apparently I'm Manly.
ReplyDeletei would love a secret message lampshade! i think that would be a fab addition to my room and im sure it would be a great little talking point :)
ReplyDeleteI like the hidden message lamp shade "always look on the bright side", I'd give it to my mum as it's one of her sayings : )
ReplyDeleteIt has to be the original Orla Kiely stem print - such a classic.
ReplyDeleteI would love the World Map shade for my partner, he's obsessed with maps, globes and atlas' and it would be a perfect gift for him!!
ReplyDeleteSo difficult to choose but I do love the World Map one, fabulous.
ReplyDeleteHard to choose! As much as I'd like one for myself, we're currently up the nursery for our soon-to-be-first born, so I think I'd go for the Cath Kidston mini train print.
ReplyDeleteOoo the rocket rascal one with the lovely red bobbly trim.
ReplyDeleteI was only day-dreaming on their site the other day, wondering how girly I could go before hubby revolted! Now we are in our forever-home, an Amy Butler would be a truly special addition! (if I couldn't get away with that, a map one would be a good compromise...)
ReplyDeleteThe blue damask Tanya Wheelan one from the floral section is a bit delicious! That one please.
ReplyDeleteToo many for an indecisive girl to choose from!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am tempted to pick one from the 'manly section' in order to placate my best beloved......I would have to plump for the Orla Kiely Stripe Petal.
ROCK THE SKELETON!
ReplyDeleteThe world map is amazing! And so inspiring to think of all those far off places when sitting in your office! :-)
ReplyDeleteI would choose the very pretty bird and butterfly shade as it would brighten up my bedside table no end and replace the rather uninspired dull Ikea lamp that's currently hogging the space.
ReplyDeleteBefore we moved in our house had belonged to the same family for about 50 years, and the light fittings look like it too - and not in a good way! So pretty much any of these beautiful lampshades would make a world of difference. But possibly my favourite is the sailing boats one - very Famous Five.
ReplyDeleteThe Orla Kieley car one, it's scrummy!
ReplyDeleteI really love the 'Small Rocket Rascals' lampshade. I love the 50s Jetson's styling, the vibrant colours and kitsch quality to it.
ReplyDeleteHave a bright day!
Oh my goodness, I love that butterfly and bird print lamp. Such a thing of beauty, and who doesn't need more beautiful things in their life!
ReplyDeleteSuch a difficult decision! It's a toss up between the "Always look on the Bright Side" and World map lampshade! I think I'll have to go for the world map one though, I like the quirkiness of it.
ReplyDeleteThat bird and butterfly shade is just beyond words beautiful. I pick that one please!
ReplyDeletethey're all stunning, but i think the Aplhabet one or the Orla Kiely one... Alphabet!
ReplyDeleteI love the green 'French Wallpaper' shade - it is absolutely beautiful. Love the retro style and have a perfect stand for it. x
ReplyDeleteI am in love! With the bird/butterfly print *swoon*
ReplyDeleteWould have to be the vintage alphabet shade for my nephews room - gorgeous! (both the shade and my nephew).
ReplyDeleteI'd love to have the Arabesque lampshade. I've been looking for something that goes with my new wallpaper for ages and this one would fit perfectly!
ReplyDeleteIt has to be the Cavallini World Map lampshade for me - gorgeous!
ReplyDeletethe vintage bird lampshade is gorgeous - I have the perfect spot for it too!!
ReplyDeleteBirds and butterflies, I think - tough choice!
ReplyDeleteThe bird and butterfly print lampshade will make it feel like the first day of Spring every day! love it!
ReplyDeletethe skeleton!
ReplyDeletevintage alphabet one is lush
ReplyDeleteDefo the Orla Kiely one - you can never have too much orange!
ReplyDeleteThe Newspaper Linen lampshades would look splendid in the reading corner of the study - beautiful
ReplyDeleteGothic Rose is a fun twist on floral =)
ReplyDeleteIt's all about the vintage alphabet!
ReplyDeleteHad a look at the others but the alphabet rhyming lampshade is heaven sent!
ReplyDeleteI'd choose the Cavallini Paper World Map lampshade. I'd love to travel the world but alas, I can't afford to so if I had that one I could just look at the world instead.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many gorgeous ones to pick from! Love the retro ones, but would probably go for the newspaper one
ReplyDeleteThe bird and butterfly :O It's lovely!
ReplyDeleteThink I'd opt for the Cavallini world map one!
ReplyDeleteI love so many!
ReplyDeleteGotta be this one -
http://www.flickr.com/photos/from-the-old-lamp-shed/4904107313/
The manly skeleton shade, amazing!
No more now! Thanks for playing, we'll announce the winner tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteOh your lampshades are all soo lovely...im really loving the bird and butterfly print one though...lovely product!
ReplyDeleteOrla Kieley car lampshade!
ReplyDeleteOoohhh...would have to be the aeroplanes...would be a great start to the boys bedroom as they are mad on planes at the moment (the 2.5 year old even recognises spitfires already )
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Shades...I love them all! However my favourite would have to be the birdy/butterfly one!
ReplyDeleteI love the Funky Birds pattern on the website!
ReplyDeleteThey are all stunning, hard to choose!
ReplyDeleteIf I'm not too late would probably be the lovely alphabet one!
ReplyDeleteOh such a hard choice between those cute little orange cars or the pretty birds and butterflies - I can't even chose by color because they would each fit perfectly into a room in our loft! The orange cars could go on the credenza in the dinning room - they'd match our retro orange leather chairs perfectly! Or the birdies could go in our bedroom (hmm, I do need a new bedside lamp...). They would be so lovely with our brown-and-sky blue bird and garden theme!
ReplyDeleteOh excuse me. My husband just threw in his two cents and we've agreed upon the orange cars. Imagine that - he preferred that one over the foo foo birds. :P
ReplyDeleteI'd pick the bird and butterflies as I think my taxidermy crow Maxi (full name Maximillian the Crow Thief) would like the bird company.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely either the Cavallini World Map or the Butterfly & Birds one! I've just done up my room & either one of those would look amazing in here!
ReplyDeleteItem 103 ~Cowboy - The fellow does seem to be setting about his work with aplomb.
ReplyDeletepick me pick me!!I love the birdy, although I can't easiely choose only one, love 'em all. I discovered this site from you the other day and there is in top of my shopping list anyway.so many great choises and the prices are so right!
ReplyDeleteOh so hard with so little time to choose. I think I am being drawn back to the Cavillini postcards with handwritten messages on. That's the one Donestic Sluttery. Where would I be without you to lighten my day from work and dissertation writing...and with a lamp from you to light it a little but more...
ReplyDeletetheyre all beautiful. i would go for the birds and butterfly. there is a print too that i saw on your site that itd go super well with.
ReplyDelete
