Make a wish

When I was a kid, I was forever chasing dandelion seeds. I still do it now. I remember that I once stopped talking to catch one in the middle of a job interview (I didn't get the job, I looked at bit weird). They're a little bit of magic - all these little seeds and wishes just floating about waiting to be caught.

Lana from Wishes on the Wind obviously used to chase dandelion seeds as well. She's the clever girl behind this dandelion clock necklace. Look at all those wishes you're carrying around with you! That's more than you'd get with The Queen's Nose, and I'm pretty sure you're only allowed to use wishing wells once a day.

Wishes on the Wind has loads of little plant jewellery pieces, but this is definitely my favourite and I've been thinking about buying it ever since Angharad wrote about it on Edible Glitter. It's £19 from Lana'a Folky shop, which I'm sure you'll agree is a small price to pay for wishes and dreams.

  1. It's ever so pretty and delicate, but do the seeds not... go off? (I am not a gardener.)

    1. The seeds are in a little airtight container so they won't go off. No one will comment on the mould growing about your person. It's hard for seeds to go off, they'd need to be warm and moist and well... then they tend to just grow into plants and flowers and magic beanstalks.

  2. I wondered the same thing as Sara (and I AM a gardener) but it sounds like the wishes are preserved! Such an unusual idea, I like it.

(I used to catch dandelion 'fairies' when I was little; I always wished for a Cornetto. I don't know why I remember that!)
