I'm a bit bored of people giving me a list of DVDs as soon as their birthday is near. Gifts should be more exciting than yet another series of House which you can just buy yourself. Recently I've been trying to buy from independent designers so I can find something a bit more special.
Nadia Sparham hand-makes all her pretty ceramics and cushions in her studio in Walthamstow, and her designs are unique and incredibly sweet.
She does a whole range of dog and cat designs, but I know someone who will fall over at the sight of this pug teacup and saucer. Look at his little face! The only thing better than this is an actual pug. He's £15.
The gold tree cushion will be a perfect new addition to my friend's swanky new flat. It comes in different sizes starting at £58, and is just the right amount of shiny.
The fantastically-named 'blokes by tree' range is my favourite. You can pick up mugs and side plates for as little as £12, but I want them in dinner plate form (HINT HINT). They're £20 each.
As well as being very cheerful colours, this book flowers cushion blows my mind for its name alone. BOOK FLOWERS. If they existed, I would be a book flower farmer, full time. It's £50.
Lastly, how adorable is her idea to have a child's drawing transferred onto some ceramics? For instance, this baby cup is £12 and you just have to upload a jpeg of the drawing and Nadia will do the rest. I have a feeling it won't just be baby drawings I'll use this for...
