Etsy Pick: Sapling Press
Lisa of Sapling Press has been working with the chaps behind dearblankpleaseblank.com, where people post their frustrations with the world, to create these funny and beautiful cards. Poor unicorns! Poor, tardy unicorns.
I love the simple typeface and clean crisp paper. I can imagine these scrolling off an old-fashioned typewriter. This card answers the question of who the Spoon ran away from in Hey Diddle Diddle. Poor old Fork.
In idle moments, I like singing "grammar, grammar nazi" to the tune of Lady Gaga's Paparazzi, so it's no wonder I'm a fan of this card.
Browse the rest of the 'Dear Blank' range to find your favourite. They're £2.82 each plus £2.19 shipping. Have a poke around the rest of her shop too - all her cards share the same distinctive look, whether they're announcing that cake and presents are the best thing about birthdays, or telling your beloved you go together like Milli and Vanilli. Ideal for the font nerd in your life, or buy a few to frame on your wall to make your guests smile.

LOVE THEM. Absolutely love. I would love to get a letter from the unicorns.
ReplyDeleteThe fork and spoon one made me cackle like an old witch.
ReplyDeleteI find "He has your hair" oddly poignant for a card written from one piece of cutlery to another.
ReplyDeleteThis is the kind of thing that make me go "damn, I wish I'd thought of that" - uttery gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love letterpress and lisa krowinski's work. I made her letters "favorites" of mine on Etsy a long time ago. Too bad folk on Tumblr have been cropping her work and giving her no credit...
ReplyDeleteThese are great! The trouble with dearblankpleaseblank.com is that you can spend ages browsing once you're there... another online time waster for me - as if I didn't have enough already! ;) But I do love it!
