Design Porn: Sulas's Lampshades

A friend of mine frogmarched me off to the Country Living Spring Fair last night. "You'll love it," she said. "It's like an army of Etsy stalls has settled in Islington."

Oh and love it I did. I came home with two beautiful framed Thelwell prints from The Print Rescuer, a lovely book and some Rituals goodies, and having made the epic discovery that Wyke Farm's Super Light cheddar is a dead ringer for Grana Padano.

But what I absolutely fell in love with Ursula Nias's beautiful floral lampshades. "What a lovely pattern!" I told my friend on passing, "they look like - oh my God. They ARE real flowers."

Beautiful. Yes, the very talented Ursula uses real flowers and herbs to make these stunning lampshades. There was a particularly ravishing one at the fair which used love-in-a-mist, my favourite flower, so if you're heading along to the Fair, um, buy it.

Shropshire-based Ursula also makes shades to order and you can commission one to suit a particular room. You can get all sorts of shade shapes: 5-10 inch shades are £65, and 12-14 inch ones are £85. P&P to UK addresses is £5.20.
