Doesn't it look peaceful?

The house has an old style charm about it. It's not grand by any means, but it's still a classy place to stay. The bedrooms are decked out in antique fabrics, but there's also free wifi and a flatscreen TV as well. A modern touch for such an old building.

It's looks so pretty, but my favourite room might be the bathroom.

I'm a suck for freestanding baths and black and white tiling. Throw in some exposed beams and I'm sold. This is basically my dream bathroom.
I was expecting Hafod y Garreg to be totally out of my price range, but it's very reasonable. There are only two double bedrooms and they're £78 per night. Dinner is a three course meal at £23.50 and you're asked to bring your own wine. Breakfast is a 'huge affair' and they have hens running about outside to provide the eggs.
There's no mention of the prices rising during the Hay festival, but I imagine with those prices and that view, they get booked up quickly. And you're also going to have to race me for a booking.
It looks gorgeous! Check out Llanthony Priory too - also in the Brecon Beacons and about 30 mins from Hay - a beautiful drive. It's a 12th century priory with only four rooms. (I don't work for them by the way!)
ReplyDeleteWe're hoping to get to Hay this year - we might to have to see if any of these gorgeous places has any room to some Sluttery girls to stay!
ReplyDeleteThat monk figure in the corner would freak me out a bit. Might have to stick a coat over him or something! :D
