Shop in the Spotlight: Roo's Beach

Wet and windy weekend? Yep, me too. With my need for sunshine at a high, I reckon it's time to hit the beach. Roo's Beach in this case, a Cornish shop that specialises in a a sunny surfer lifestyle, with products that will add colour to even the greyest of days.

I discovered Roo's Beach thanks to Elle magazine who showed me the gorgeous Sunnylife beachsounds radio. Any trip to the beach (or the back garden) requires tunes, right? This comes in a range of delicious colours and is not only a radio but also acts as a speaker for your iPod. It's water and sand resistant, should any larks start to get out of hand. It's £32.95 and I think I'm going to have to get one for my nowhere-near-the-beach flat.

The shop stocks a range of brands but do produce some of their own designs too. Here's their herringbone beach towel. Who knew beachtowels could be so classy? It's £32.99 and I'm going to retire my Corfu beach towel immediately.

Fleece blankets don't have to be dull either, apparently. I love the neon used on this fleece blanket, £22.50.

Anyone fancy drinks on the beach? Of course you do! These acrylic cups will help us do it in style, for only £6.

And do you want a pineapple ice-cubes in your drink? Ask a silly question... This pineapple ice-cube tray is £9.95 (and also would be brilliant for using with Asda's flamingo and pineapple glasses).

There's a clothing section too, full of easy throw-on dresses, scarves and shorts. This delighful pompom straw bag is from classic surfer brand Roxy and is £35.

As you might expect, Roo's Beach also sells sunglasses. I'm rather taken with this pair by Le Specs. They're £40 but look like they could be a lot more. And, while we're here, don't you love the model's lip colour? Handily, for boosting beachside appeal, there's a beauty section too.

Here's more from Le Specs. These crystal tan sunglasses are £35.

And - naturally - they also sell a substantial range of Havaianas and beach-friendly footwear brands such as Vans and Keds. These fiesta Keds are £42.50 and are the prettiest pumps I've seen for ages. They're telling me it's time to party or, at the very least, book myself a holiday.

  1. There is some awesome Le Specs sunglasses for half price on The Outnet at the moment. This store is ace though, I'm off to get me a flashy radio.

    1. Ooo, thanks for the tip off! I adore that radio, definitely want one in my hands/house before there's any serious amount of sunshine around.
