Shop in the spotlight: The Peanut Vendor

The Peanut Vendor is a lovely little shop at the top end of Angel in London. When I grow up, I'd like Domestic Sluttery HQ to be there. (I think of it as Angel, but recent comments say Highbury & Islington, which is the nearer tube). They have a great mix of unusual vintage and retro stuff, but it's all unique too. Stuff that you know you won't find anywhere else. You'd think that, and the Angel postcode would send those prices sky-rocketing, but actually everything is pretty reasonable. There's more choice in their shop. but you can buy some stuff online as well. Like this little lot:

I thought this was a kettle when I first saw it, but it's a shiny pretty teapot (you're not stupid, I bet you could see that).

If you like the 'Keep Calm and Carry On" posters, this Eat Your Green print will look great in your kitchen.

This little tea set is from the 30s. Great print.

  1. This shop is not in Angel, it's in Newington Green.

  2. Maybe you're right, but I still see Newington Green as the 'top end of Angel'.

Anyways, if you want the full address it's: it's 133 Newington Green, Islington N1 4RA

Nearest tubes are Angel on the Northern Line, or Highbury and Islington on the Victoria Line.

  3. It's over half an hours walk from Angel. Highbury would be more realistic.

  4. Well the address (and details of the nearest tube) is there for anyone who wants to go and check it out. We featured the online shop as well so people can check out their wares online too.

What do you think of the shop, Anon? Have you been?

  5. This shop looks really cool, and I love the name!

might stroll down there tomorrow after visiting New Designers.. there are so many other great shops along Upper St, I won't mind the half hour walk! ;)

  6. You're right! Didn't mean to mislead anyone though.

But, if it's sunny the walk is lovely :-) there are an awful lot of fabulous shops up that way.
