Skirts for Spring Sunshine

What's that outside the window? Could it be? Dare we say? From where I'm typing I can glimpse blue skies. My personal rite of spring involves finding the swishiest kind of skirt and skipping out into the spring sunshine. Come swish with me.

While I wish I was a little bit taller (sorry, Skee-Lo's been in my head since last week's Sales Spy), and I could sport the gorgeous number Kat featured yesterday, instead I'll happy myself with another ASOS number - this midi jacquard floral skirt. Full skirted - check, botanical pattern - yep, pretty pastels - it adds up to spring in a skirt. Not bad for £60.

This button-through midi skirt from The Whitepepper blossoms with the promise of a new season. And is actually decorated with blossoms (more florals for spring - as we know, groundbreaking). Pick one up for £48 - bonus points if you accessorise with flowers in your hair.

If midi skirts aren't your thing, Oasis have reworked the wrap skirt into a thing of beauty, with their botanical wrap skirt. Blossoms, birds - this skirt does Spring Watch with style - and it's only £28.

Yum, ice cream. Though I'm seasonally ahead of myself here, it's hard not to get excited with thoughts of ice cream and candied seaside treats when looking at People Tree's Brooke stripe skirt. It's a great way of looking sunshine-ready without having to wear florals and is £58.

Okay, there is nothing swishy about this striped pencil skirt but it had to be included as I've spent the last ten minutes fantasising about how great this would look worn on a trip to Paris in the springtime (HINT). It's only £35 from ASOS leaving you spending money for croque monsieurs and cheeky glasses of wine (HINT).

I love this daisy foil skirt so very much. But I know it can't be mine. I'll waste each and every day looking at how pretty the shimmer is in the light and watching the twinkle as I walk past windows. If you've got more self-restraint than me, please please buy it, and I promise to devote my days to admiring it on you instead. It's £125 from Whistles at ASOS.

This blush midi tulle skirt is so ridiculous - possibly the girliest bit of fluff imaginable. And, of course, I adore it. It's the perfect skirt to wear for giddy spinning and skipping, and, available for just £18 from Topshop, it's almost guaranteed to put that spring in your step.
