Superhero Style: Wonder Woman Socks (Complete With Capes!)

Sock weather seems to be here to stay, doesn't it? I tried a bare foot with a pretty shoe the other day, and - not to be overly dramatic or anything - I thought my feet might perish of cold. Nope. Socks it is. 

It's a good day when I manage a matching pair of socks - as I write this, one foot is sporting a pale blue sock adorned with pink heart-shaped cherries, and the other is clothed in grey and yellow stripes. If I owned a pair of Wonder Woman socks, though, I'd make a bit more effort to master the art of sock-wearing. BECAUSE WOULDYA LOOK AT THEM?! They have little CAPES. It's quite possible (though not scientifically proven - yet) that you'd actually be able to FLY while wearing them. You might need to have your invisible plane on hand in case the socks malfunction, because with superpower comes super-responsibility. You wouldn't want to cause an accident.

You're Awesome: A Reminder

If you're having a slightly ropey time at the minute and need a reminder that things will get better, then look no further. You're ace! No, really - not one but TWO kittens say so. This Gemma Correll card is £2.50 from Tatty Devine and would look very fetching in a frame. Or just post it to yourself. A friend introduced me to the concept of sending postcards to yourself, as a reminder of what a lovely time you had on holiday. Who doesn't love getting post?

Need a pick-me-up right now? Then visit Emergency Compliment. Obviously they're auto-generated but they can still make me a bit heart melty. We've got quite a few runners on Team DS - Sara is a super-speedy athlete who keeps getting caught up saying hello to cats on her route. Frances and Alex, pre-baby English, wiped the floor with us when we did Race For Life last year. And I like running because my running app means I get to survive a zombie apocalypse every time I head out of the door.

Wonder Woman! The Best Mug in the World

I truly believe that this Wonder Woman mug makes the best cup of tea. When I'm feeling hungover rubbish and need a cracking start to my morning, this is the mug that I use. My house isn't short of a mug or twenty, but my Wonder Woman mug (a Christmas present from the parentals) is the best morning mug for chanelling my inner kick-ass super hero.

She turns into a super hero just by spinning around! I remember trying this as a kid. I actually fell into a gas fire and still have a scar on my left elbow from being so moronically stupid. Her tiara was a boomerang! I'm quite up for having a tiara anyway, but even more so if I can use it as a weapon against dastardly baddies. Kick-ass accessories are clearly the best kind of accessories.

Art You Grew Up With takes your favourite comic artwork and turns them into affordable artwork. They're the real deal and created from archives in the DC Studios. Some creep up into the thousands, but not these.


There aren't many women more kick-ass than Wonder Woman. Even her accessories have superhero powers. Fabulous thighs too. This print is £95 and in a limited edition of 100.


This Batman Begins print is very cool. And only £71.25. It'll look so eye-catching in a dark frame. And it's boy friendly too.


I've never been the biggest Supergirl fan. She's cute an' all, but not nearly kick-ass enough for my liking. But, this print is gorgeous. She's sitting on a meteorite! Brilliant. This one is more expensive at £225, but I love it.
