Tea time! The Oxford Tea Party

Here at Domestic Sluttery we love our tea. We also like coffee (but not as much as tea). This means that we love our tea and coffee fripperies. Tea pots, milk jugs, teacups, coffee sets......*sigh*. Which is why we love the rather brilliant site The Oxford Tea Party. This ace website features all sorts of caffeine related lovelies to provide 'mix and match vintage styling for your home'. We like. There is so much to choose from but my personal faves include:

This rather fabulously retro 1970s coffee set. It's £59.99 for the whole set which includes a coffee pot, six cups and saucers, and a milk jug! Or what about this amazing set:

This Edwardian Gilt Porcelain Tea/Coffee Service for Four comes from 1910! The set of large pot, four tea cups and saucers, milk jug and sugar bowl is £109.99. A little bit pricier than usual yes, but you have to admit it is pretty special. If its a bit too bling for you then how about this cute yet slightly scary set?

This 1930s pussycat teapot set will set you back £89.99 but look at it! It's cats. Wearing bow ties! The set consists of a large teapot, matching milk jug and sugar bowl. Cats! Bow ties!

  3. I'm currently waiting for an order from the Oxford Tea Party.

I spoke to Chloe before ordering the item to ensure that it could be mailed with a guaranteed delivery date.

Currently the item is two working days past the delivery date that I paid extra for and all emails are being ignored.

I have once managed to get through on the phone and was told that Chloe would call me back with the tracking number. Needless to say that didn't happen and she is no longer answering her phone.

If I have not had contact by the end of today I will be seeking legal advice and contacting my back to recover the funds.

Despite how nice the items are I would strongly advise that everyone avoids this retailer.

    1. hi there, did you ever receive your items? My friends bought me and my husband a voucher as a wedding present and we haven't been able to redeem it - i've spent 3 months trying! I'm wondering whether the whole thing is a scam...

  4. To the above poster (2 Aug 2010)- did you ever receive delivery? I have placed an order with the company and it is now 15 days late. I have emailed and phoned both of their telephone numbers and have had no response. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

  5. Just stumbled accross this and wanted to report that a similar thing happened to me a couple of years ago. Was stalled repeatedly by the vendor at OTP who told me my Paypal payment for a teacup had come through as an echeque and they were waiting for it to clear (which I don't believe as I have used PP for over a decade without that ever happening before). Weeks down the line I got a package but it turned out to be the wrong item. Seller wanted me to send the item (a huge cakestand!) on to the correct recipient. Was like getting blood out of a stone getting the funds to cover this (I honestly think the vendor expected me to foot the bill myself!). And the correct item was never sent out to me in exchange. Got a PP refund eventually (plus a host of appallingly rude emails from the vendor) Can't believe this is still going on years down the line. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

  6. Hi there -the same thing has happened to me and I was wondering what legal advice I can take? I ordered my items on the 26 November and have not had anything. They've taken my money via Paypal though. I can't contact the company and am getting really frustrated that this is now looking more and more like a scam. What can I do?
