1930s Seltzer Bottles from Pedlars

I've always wanted my ideal home to be filled with subtle nods to the past. Not necessarily stuffed with broken chairs and tatty rugs - I don't want to be known as the batty lady who keeps everything - but interesting, beautiful pieces with a past of their own.

'Tis why these restored 1930s Seltzer Bottles (£125) from Pedlars are perfect. Made in Argentina, they were then transported to the USA, filled with soda water and graced the table of many a restaurant. Unfortunately you can't use them for fizzy pop anymore, but they are so special it doesn't matter.

Though they aren't cheap, the bottles are rare so don't expect them to hang around for long. You've been warned!

  1. I have one of those! only mine was £15 from a local auction house and came with a 1950's purple glass decanter, 6 purple shot glasses and a few other bits of glassware that i didn't actually want...but my local charity shop was happy to take the extra bits of my hands.
