The Wyndstock Country House Party, Hampshire

It was over on London Plinth that I read about the Wyndstock Country House Party and I really really want to go. I like festivals, but after a few days I'm not very good at them. It's not just the camping (although sleeping on a slope of bumpy lumpy earth is not exactly my idea of a fun night), often it's the rain. I can stay happy at a festival as long as the sun is shining and I'm not freezing my backside off.

The Wyndstock Country House Party is a mix of hotel and festival fun. You do all the festival stuff during the day (go on, go and get some henna on you), but you also get to have cocktails in the water gardens, and play a bit of croquet if you fancy it. And you're obviously very very dressed up, because your £60 ticket also pays for dinner and dancing at that tres swanky pad in the picture.

Instead the usual festival fare, you'll get a sit-down meal (veggies are catered for, of course) and then dance into the night before retiring to your tent. It's a glamourous affair, but with all of the highlights of summery festivals. The upcoming Midsummer ball this weekend has sold out, but you've got plenty of time to get your tickets for the Country House Party on August 27th.

If you see the Domestic Sluts drinking gin and making daisy chains, do say hello.
