Sluttishly Snug: Capers with Capes

Half of Sluttery Towers has been brought to its knees by varying forms of flu and colds in the last week. Luckily, we all swallowed enough dangerous levels of Lemsip to make it to the wonderful launch party for the book on Tuesday night, but still. A weekend in bed when you're too sick to properly enjoy it is rubbish indeed.

I spent most of Monday wrapped up in this marvellous thing from Marks and Spencer.

I'm sure all of you will have Strong Opinions on whether this is a wrap, a cape, a shawl or other, but as I initially bought it to wear as part of a bandit costume, and later wore it to the Batman: Arkham City launch, I am ABSOLUTELY convinced it is a cape.

Of course, when I was poorly and needed to feel all snug and warm, I decided it was a shawl. I pinned it with a nice brooch and stayed in bed necking Nurofen that a kind friend brought me from the shops. This multi-tasking magical bit of knitwear costs £19.50, which is frankly a bargain given that depending on your mood you can be Sancho Panza or sneezy panda.

  1. Hmm, I rather like the idea of this be muti-functional and cosy and everything (cheap).
This is the part where I look like an idiot - what are the differences between a wrap, shawl and cape? To be honest, I can't even imagine in my head what I would think of if these were mentioned without pictures.

  2. I have spent so long feverishly arguing over how they all differ with myself that I really don't want to find out. I COULD google it. I COULD. But I probably won't until the need to know absolutely becomes too much.
