Teacups Lamp from Next

I've never been that excited by Next, associating it with terrifying 5am queues for its sales, fairly bland clothing and oddly soulless shop floors. But, every so often, their homeware selection comes up trumps with something that makes you go "hold on - Next? Really? Cor."

This teacups lamp is a winner for me. Four teacups are stacked up to form a precarious looking base, topped with a faux silk shade. It's the sort of quirky vintage style you don't find on the high street, except maybe in Anthropologie where it would cost a millionty pounds. Here, it's £50, and the neutral colours mean it would fit in anywhere.

The Next website shows it in the bedroom, but I think you'd have to showcase it in the living room for a little slice of Alice in Wonderland fun. A cup of tea bathed in the light of your teacups lamp? Yes please.

  1. Oh no! It's the most twee thing in the world AND it's beige.

    1. You could paint it if you could get past the twee.

    2. Nope, not doing anything for me.

I think since I wrote about balloon lights, that part of my brain has been spoilt.

  2. The original from Anthropologie was almost $200 - there are also loads of tutorials to make your own such as :

  4. Aaaaw yeah I love this lamp. It's worth £50 for the base alone, then you could switch it up with a brightly coloured shade if you wanted. I think a plain, hot pink shade would look great with this. I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything else from Next though, my house is looking way too....Nexty!
