Wallpaper Wednesday: Young & Battaglia Chesterfield
It's not unusual for textiles to find themselves on wallpaper. We're used to seeing cushions in the same designs as wallpaper and it's always a surprise to find that some colourways work better on one than the other.
Then there's this Chesterfield wallpaper by Anglo-Italian duo Young & Battaglia, and the fabric on walls thing is taken to a whole new level.
Despite being on textured paper, the leather look panels jump off the walls. It transforms to look like padded leather walls. That smoking room vibe you get from battered old Chesterfields translates - this would look glorious in a dining room and even better in a bedroom.
I can't afford an actual Chesterfield sofa, but I could go to British By Design and splash out on the paper at £70 a roll - this is the perfect paper for creating a little reading and brandy nook. I can't think of a better reason to create a nook, can you?

I love this. I'm tempted to turn my cupboard under the stairs into a nook just so I can have it papered in this. Let's ignore where the vacuum cleaner and assorted stuff would go...
ReplyDeleteI'd come and drink brandy in your nook with you.
