Hurh hurh, racks.
I don't know why it's so hard to find a nice coat rack to hang your guests' coats on. Having decided I needed one to stop my friends having to either dump them on my bed, or leave them to get frostbitten in the downstairs cupboard, it soon became clear that much of the internet is populated by massively over-priced artisan ones that aren't that nice, £45 bits of wood with nails stuck in them, and ones that look like they belong in a supermarket staff room.
When I stumbled across Alice's Etsy store kitschemporium, I thought her prices must be missing a zero. Alice covers coat racks in lovely patterns, varnishes them, and sells them FOR TEN POUNDS. Some of them are reduced to £7.50. I could line my entire flat . I really can't though because I would inevitably get stuck on one while trying to find the loo at 3 o'clock in the morning.
Oh. I've also got a terrible crush on these ones as well. I've got to repaint my hall walls in the next few weeks so I'd better get a sodding move on and choose a colour. Did I mention these are £10?
Alice also does the *most* incredible decoupage chairs and stools for around the £160 mark, so be sure to check those out.
So pretty! I had a guest coat rack once. It's now vanished beneath a layer of silk scarves, bags, cardigans and about 15 berets, but I believe it's still just about there underneath.
ReplyDeleteI think the key to a good guest coat rack is getting one that is far, far too beautiful to submerge in layers of your own tat, and these are definitely gorgeous enough to do the trick.
