Win! Ballet Shoes designed by YOU from Upper Street

On the 10th day of Christmas, Domestic Sluttery gave to me... Upper Street shoes that I designed myself!

Last Christmas we gave away a pair of shoes from Upper Street and we had so much fun looking at all of your designs, we've decided to let you play Jimmy Choo again! This year, Upper Street are giving away a pair of their ballet shoes (and the opportunity to go and play in their Islington Studio, where we might even buy you a drink). The prize is worth a whopping £250! Merry Christmas indeed!

It's a massive prize so we can't just give these away in a prize draw. Instead we're going to get you to design your shoes! Here's how you can win:
  • Have a play on the Upper Street website and design a fabulous pair of ballet shoes (you don't have to stick to this design if you win but you can only design one pair).
  • Take a screenshot of your shoes (Awesome Screenshot is really useful) and then share on our Facebook page, or upload to Twitter and use the hashtag #DomesticSlutteryChristmas so we can find them. If you register with Upper Street is a bit easier but do whatever works best for you. No need to do both, except for the fact that sharing shoes is really fun. Whichever option you choose, makes sure you're following us.
  • Want to enter the competition for someone else? YES. We like kind people so if you want to play Shoe Design Santa, we'll think that's ace.
  • The Domestic Sluttery team are going to choose our favourite five pairs, and the final winner will be chosen by the lovely Lisa at Upper Street.

This competition might take a little more time (probably because you've accidentally designed seven pairs and you can't decide which is your favourite) so you've got until midnight on Sunday to share your shoes with us. We'll pick our favourites next week.

Wondering who won yesterday's competition with the V&A? The winner of the glorious brass collar is Turned Her Brain! What's her favourite Christmas tradition? "My favourite Christmas tradition has to be the 11 am glass of sherry with my nan (none of the rest of the family like it - their loss). We always sit down, have a wee glass in the special glasses that don't get used for anything else, and then we (I) laugh hysterically at the shade of puce my nan's cheeks turn as a result." Turnedherbrain, just email us and tell us where to send your prize!

Happy shoe designing, everyone!

Oh yawn, small print (read it). The competition will close at midnight (UK time) December 16th. You must be UK based to enter, sorry you lovely overseas readers. If you're anon your entry won't count and if you enter more than once, we'll discount all of your entries. You must claim your prize by the 21st or it'll be passed to someone else. You don't have to stick to the shoes you entered if you win - you can total play about until you're happy, but you do have to design ballet flats. The final decision is down to Lisa at Upper Street and arguments will be met with a very strict telling off.

  1. Thinking of entering this to win my wife a pair of shoes, but just a quick question: do I need to design ballet shoes, or can I design a different style?

  2. Can you enter for yourself AND another person? e.g. I'd like to enter for myself because...shoes! However, mum wants in on it but doesn't have facebook or twitter, so could I upload her design on her behalf in addition to my own design?

    1. No, sorry. Only one entry per person. Otherwise someone could enter for their cat.
