This is one of those ideas that's so simple, I can't quite understand why it's never been done before. That's an image of the world's first see-through toaster by Magimix. Genius! Of course, genius does come at a price, and £160 is a pretty hefty price tag for a toaster. But, if you're the type to toast literally everything in your kitchen, not only will you have the coolest gadgets on the market, you'll never burn your buns again.
It hasn't been done before because after the first week, it will be incredibly unsightly with all the crumbs lying at the bottom and bits of burnt bread stuck to the heating element! The same reason why dishwashers don't have glass doors like washing machines.

if somebody is so paranoid about getting their toast perfect that they would shell out £160 for a see through toaster so they can pop it up at the right moment obviously missed the point of having a "toaster" in the first place.
