Since we showed you the apple pie mug martini last week, I've been on the hunt for other apple-based cocktails to try. And how fortuitous that I should stumble across one I'd never heard of before during a week in which we're celebrating all things apple.
Alright, so it's not made with bramleys (unless you want to be a hardcore domestic goddess and juice them yourself), but it is pretty darn delicious. Combining sour apple liqueur with the ginger and lemon gives it a zingy, thirst-quenching kick, and it's strong enough in both booze and taste that you'll only need one or two.

What you'll need is:
25ml vodka
50ml sour apple liqueur (like De Kuyper or similar)
25ml apple juice
10ml lemon juice
Ginger ale
And all you need to do is:
Combine everything but the ginger ale into a cocktail shaker with ice. Mix, then strain over ice into a sling glass and top up with ginger ale. If you're feeling fancy, add a slice of apple or two to decorate, and drink. Getting one of your five-a-day never tasted so good!
My drink of choice is an apple Martini but they don't touch the sides, maybe a long drink will suffice.?
ReplyDeleteMust try this thirst quencher.
