The most expensive cushion in the world (probably)
Paul Smith meets The Rug Company meets Disney meets Liberty. Throw all of those together and you've got yourself one helluva design team. And Minnie Mouse is kinda cool. I like that this Minnie Mouse Bloomsbury cushion is handmade with traditional needlepoint and tapestry. It's very cool indeed.
It's £350.
Excuse me whilst I remove my jaw from the floor.
What do you think? Ain't no cushion worth £350 in my book, but do you like it? If you had the money would you buy it? Tell us in the comments!

it is a lovely cusion, but certainly think its overpriced! even if i had £350 to spend on one!
ReplyDeleteI can only presume that for this price the cushion is the size of a football pitch
ReplyDeletePersonally, I can't stand it, sorry! *Also picks jaw up from the floor at price*
ReplyDeleteSaw these recently and thought they were quite fun - but there's no way I'd ever pay £350 for an everyday cushion.
ReplyDeleteWould you pay £350 for an occasional cushion?
ReplyDeleteOn the plus side, I'd have something fun to look at whilst watching scary films. But I'd spill tea on it within five minutes of getting it home.
Now, I appreciate craftsmanship. And handmade things. And it's nice enough - not really my style but even so.... £350?!!!!!!!! Even if I had the cash, no. I don't think I could!
ReplyDeleteNO!
ReplyDeleteNo, still wouldn't pay £350 for an occasional cushion.
ReplyDeleteIf it was an antique, rare and super fabulous, one-of-a-kind cushion that could never be found again, then maybe (but I'd probably be too scared to use it).
I think a huge amount of craftsman ship has gone into this, but I can't help but feel it's a designer price tag. Next week I'll go on the hunt for more tapestry cushions that don't cost the same as a small house.
ReplyDeleteI really like it but still wouldn't buy it if I could afford it. What if one of my kids threw up on it or something?! haha
ReplyDeleteYes, a lot of work has gone into this cushion. And it *is* designer. But I could buy the MOST fabulous handbag for that price. Which is far more practical.
ReplyDeleteIf this makes sense - I'd buy it if I could make it myself. I would blanch at spending £30 on socks, but have been quite happy to make socks with yarn costing that much. SO, if I was provided with everything I needed to make the cushion, I'd possibly consider it. £350 for an actviity that would take me weeks PLUS a cushion at the end of it ? Not bad going.
ReplyDeleteBut £350 handed over in the shop just to get this in return ? No.
Yup, no, don't even like it. Maybe that's the point?
ReplyDeleteI saw this as my daughter is called minnie....picked it up, smiled and admired the work and then put it back :) fab though!
ReplyDeleteI don't like it, it hurts my eyes :(
ReplyDeleteI skimmed right past the title of this post and instantly mentally added this cushion to my sisters birthday list. The makers of this pillow better watch out, all this jaw dropping, someones gonna sue!
ReplyDeleteI've been loving this for a while now but could never spend so much cash on a cushion. Like Alex said, I could have a designer bag for that!
ReplyDeleteIn terms of cost for labour - assuming it is hand-made - £350 is reasonable. Tapestry takes a LONG time. In terms of a cushion? Hell no.
ReplyDeleteI was just on the harrods website and there is a Fendi diamond encrusted cushion for 450 pounds
ReplyDeleteHas anyone heard of Deborah Main? A friend in America pointed me to her website. How about $1395 for a cushion?
ReplyDelete$1395? I'm doing to assume Deborah Main has a team of kittens and fairies who work for her. I'd pay that much for fairies and kittens to sew my cushions.
ReplyDeleteam i the only one who thinks this is ugly? it wouldn't go in any house of mine even if it were 30 pounds! Meg
