Be-bop-a-lula: be my babies

I can never resist a spot of sailor themed goodness so, last Sunday, my small boat washed up at Let's Get Ready to Jumble's nautically themed sale at Bar Music Hall on London's Curtain Road. It was there that I clapped my eyes on Be-Bop-A-Lula's stall. Their 50s Americana-inspired products are every bit as fabulous at their name - stretching to goods suitable for landlubbers too. And they've got a internet store - ahoy there!

Somehow I dragged myself away from their anchor cushion and instead indulged in their cute felt brooches. I like this Ace of Spades brooch, simply because it makes me think of Motörhead and want to head bang like a loon. There's also this cupcake brooch, suitable for any Domestic Slut. Both are £8.

How great is this Day of the Dead cushion? It's made from silk with the hand sewn appliqué skull. It's probably the prettiest skeleton you'll ever see and dead reasonable too, I think, at £35. You can get the design on a tote bag too.

They also do cards. This sailor-style tattoo card is a good alternative to all those golfing/football/boozing themed Father's Day cards that abound at this time of year. It's £5 and Dad is worth every penny.

Be-bop-a-lula: sweeter than sweet Gene Vincent.
