Cocktail Hour: Caipirinha

The Brazilian cocktail is perfect for summer (I hear a rumour that's around the corner). Some people use rum, but if you're going to do it right, you need to get yourself a bottle of Cahaca. Best not to mess the perfection. You don't need any bells and whistles with this drink. Some sunshine wouldn't go amiss though.

You'll need:
  • 50ml Cahaca
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges
  • two tsp brown sugar
  • Ice
Shake it!

Muddle the brown sugar and lime wedges together, in an old fashioned glass. Add ice, pour the Cahaca over the ice and stir well. Simple cocktails are often my favourite.

  1. I ruined myself on free caipirinhas backstage at the Moulin Rouge last month with my boyfriend's band. Rock and roll! I love them, but must remember not to eat the limes, as I'm sure that's what makes me feel sick afterwards. Not the booze. Oh no.
