I'm not a big wearer of jewellery in general but I do love a good brooch. I am also a big fan of the flamingo so I was pretty instantly smitten with this beautiful Flamingo Bird Brooch (£20) by illustrator Kate Slater, which originally featured in her window display at the rather wonderful Yorkshire Sculpture Park last year.
This rather handsome Barn Owl (£16), also turned my head, as did the cute little Hummingbird (£13).
In fact, Kate's whole range of bird brooches are so lovely I highly recommend a visit to her etsy shop to pick out your very own menagerie.
