Last month, Michelle treated us to her recipe for lime curd. It left me wondering what other curds out there were showing their lemony counterpart how it’s done, so I put my research hat on.
I remembered I’d picked up some Mrs. Bridges banoffee curd from a farm shop a while back (heaven, but they don’t appear to do it any more – whimper) and a quick search led me to the rest of the Mrs. Bridges range, and especially the Blueberry Curd (£2.55).
The prettiest of all the curds I think you’ll agree, but don’t let it sit on your shelf for too long: it’s absolutely scrummy. Blueberries aren’t the sweetest fruit, so this isn’t too sickly, and it’s also perfect in cheesecakes and glooped all over vanilla ice cream.
Postage is a little pricey at £5.95, but you could always stock up on other items in the range to make it more worthwhile. I’ve got my eye on the Ginger Curd for gingering up some steamed puddings when winter comes our way.

If you're suffering withdrawal symptoms from banoffee curd, I can recommend the curd range from Thursday Cottage, which also I find in a local farm shop. The passionfruit one is fabulous - and great for making fruity cup cakes with!

Oh, Tasha, you have made my day! I searched for hours and thought banoffee curd was lost forever. Unfortunately you can't buy them online, but their website shows they stock it in the next village to mine... I feel a weekend road trip coming on!
ReplyDeleteThat's an unacceptably high postage charge, though.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with anon - I wouldn't pay over a fiver for any kind of delivery. Curd's nice an' all, but £5.95?!
ReplyDeleteOh Em Gee. This looks divine. No way I'm paying that much pp for a jar though.
ReplyDeleteIf you sign up to the Mrs Bridges Newsletter, you have access to exclusive discount codes. They normally offer free delivery a few times a year - perfect if you only want a few jars.
