Win! Hunkydory Home Lampshade

On the first day of Christmas, Domestic Sluttery gave to me... a lampshade from Hunkdory Home!

Yay! It's the first day of our 12 days of Christmas competition! Kicking off with this stunning lampshade from Hunkydory Home, we're bringing you a shiny new Christmas present every day for the next 12 days. Then we've got the biggest giveaway EVER on the 12th day. Really, we've been trying to find a way to enter ourselves. But we're not allowed so you get to win aaaaaaaall the presents! Aren't we good to you?

So what do you have to do to win this lovely Russian doll lampshade (worth £34) from the gorgeous Hunkydory Home?

Just leave us a comment telling us where you'd put your prize. Would you put it in your bedroom, or in the hallway? Tell us below and we'll pop your name into a virtual hat and announce a winner! You'll also get an extra entry for re-tweeting this competition (only once, mind - please don't spam your friends). We'll announce the winner tomorrow morning when the next competition goes live!

Good luck!

The small print: This competition will close at midnight on Tuesday December 1st and you must be UK based to enter (boo! hiss! Sorry!). We’re not allowed to enter our own competitions, although we often wish we could and would probably put this lampshade in our bedroom. We'll pick the winner at random, and we've got heaps of wonderful Christmassy competitions over the next week so don't be sad if you don't win. Try again tomorrow! Make sure you tell us your name otherwise we won't know who won! Merry Christmas everyone!

  3. I'd put it in my bedroom/living room (it's a studio flat) – it's way more exciting than the white paper one I have at the moment!

  4. I would love to hang it in my sons bedroom and redecorate using all those colours. His nursery was lime green so it would be fun to reintroduce that as the main colour. He would get such a kick out of it too.

  5. I live on my own so I can have it wherever I want. I'd probably put it in the bedroom. It'd be a nice contrast to the BRIGHT YELLOW walls my landlord saw fit to paint.

  6. It would go in my dining room to replace the sad existing rented plain lampshade. This one is much prettier!

  7. Damn, i want it in the lounge but it's a through lounge so i would have to get another one for the dining room part as well...In which case i think i would actually put it in my bedroom. Anytihng for an excuse to but new bedcovers

  8. I'd actually give this to my friend as a Christmas present - I gave her Russian doll book ends for her birthday!

  9. Ooh thats beeauutiful! That would cover up the bare lightbulb in our hallway (I say hallway - the 4x4ft patch of floor between front door, living room and bedroom) rather nicely. :)

  10. Definitely my bedroom, to match my walls.

  11. I'd put it in my living room - it'd go soo well with the sofa!! Very cute, I love it...

  12. I owuld put this in my bedroom with all my other gorgeous little pretties! :) RT'd aswell! :) @Englishian

  13. I would put it in my bedroom and I wouldn't care that it doesn't match anything because it's so pretty.

  14. Funkiest lampshade EVER! I would put this in my communal hallway. I live in a ground floor converted flat, and recently new neighbours moved into the flat upstairs. Unfortunately our neighbourly relationship didn't get off to the best of starts, because the day they moved in and switched on the shower for the first time, water started pouring into my kitchen! But they were absolute stars and sorted out the problem that very day. Our communal hallway is looking a bit tired, so a lick of paint and this lampshade would brighten it up very nicely indeed :)

  15. I'd put it in my bedroom. I've been dying to do a makeover for a while and it might give me the impetus!

  16. I'd put it in my lovely new bedroom when I buy my very first flat in the New Year!

    ReplyDelete
  17. I would like to hang it in the office so whilst working I could have something pretty to look at!

    ReplyDelete
  18. It's too pretty to put up on the ceiling. I think I'd probably see if I could convert it to fit onto my standard lamp for my living room...

  19. I'd put it in my hallway. We've been slowly redecorating our first home, and the hallway is the only room that is still a blank canvas. The lightshade we inherited is horrible, so seeing this beauty every day would cheer me up no end!

  20. If I won I would give this to my brother & his girlfriend to put in the nursery of their new little baby girl. She was born two weeks ago (a month early!) in the hospital where I work so I was first on the scene to see her tiny but perfect little hands and feet. I remember some of the first things I got as a child so I'd love her to grow up knowing this was from her Auntie!

  21. would look lovely in my granddaughter room

    ReplyDelete
  22. I'd put it in my living room as it PERFECTLY matches my walls, and I'd make gorgeous cushions to match! The whole affair would be just gorgeous! xx

    ReplyDelete
  23. This would go in my bedroom, where I have shamefully had no lampshade since...err, since I moved into my house in the summer of 2008 *blush*

    ReplyDelete
  24. Russian dolls rock! I'd hang it in my porch - it's mega plain so this would be just the ticket to give it a bit of funkiness! But then I'd probably want it in my computer room too, and our bedroom, and the stairs... :D

    ReplyDelete
  25. It'd go in a box. For just one month... and then I'm moving out of my parents (temporary post-grad financial boo) and into my lovely new home where it will take pride of bedroom place :-)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ooo, pride of place in the hallway so that everyone can see it the moment that they walk through the front door. It's yummy! :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh, I think my hallway! I live in a basement flat, and the hallway doesn't get much light, so a cheerful lampshade like that would be fabulous!

    ReplyDelete
  28. It would go in my living room and would fit in perfectly as I have two lovely sets of Russian dolls. Neither are traditional - one is pale wood with the pattern burned into it and the other is a Sherlock Holmes one! It includes Holmes, Watson, Moriarty, Inspector Lestrade and the littlest one is the Hound of the Baskervilles!

    ReplyDelete
  29. i would wear it on my head! then my whole house would be hunkydory :o)

    ReplyDelete
  30. I don't have many room to choose from, but I am most tempted by putting it in the hallway, so that everyone can see it when then come into the flat, and they will instantly feel happy!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'd hang it on my landing so my daughters and I could all appreciate it!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'd put it in the bedroom of my new house and theme the colour scheme around it :)

  33. I have two Ikea lamps, with shades that are old and grey, so I have been looking for some new funky lampshades - this one would be perfect. Both lamps are in our sitting room, where we spend a lot time - so lots of time to admire them!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'd put in my friend Lisa's house. She's the sweetest doll I know. Whenever she sees it, it'll be like looking in a mirror.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have had a really stressful time at the moment so I would grin inanely and rush out and treat myself to a lovely new lamp base to go with it!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ooh prettyness! I'd put it in my bathroom so I could gaze lovingly up at it while I'm in the tub.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Well, I tried to individualise the lampshade to the table lamp by the tv and it went a bit wrong - looks very homespun! As it is the the main focal area of the room it would be absolutely fab to have something as totally gorgeous as this to gaze at instead!

  38. Mine would wait in a box because we are moving in the new year and I have just the spot for it, on a mini, vintage 70s table in the new living room. Not that I have been planning my new house out room by room or anything. Oh no.

  39. I would put it in my bedroom as i currently have one of those paper ikea shades and would prefer something a lot brighter and cheery looking. Plus i love russian dolls.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oooh, this would go in my living room on the chest of drawers next to my Russian dolls storage boxes - just where my beautiful brass adjustable lamp used to live, until it met an untimely (non-cat related, for once) end last month.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Mine would replace the sad old tatty one in the downstairs hall!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I would definitely put it in my daughters new bedroom..

    ReplyDelete
  43. I would put it in living room so everyone that visited could see it. Also, it would match my hunydory cushion :)q

    ReplyDelete
  44. I would put it in my bedroom! I could then move the embroidered lampshade with a bird on it that's in there already into the landing, to replace the boring white shade there.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'd put it in my living room, and hope that the good vibes it puts out persuade the electrics in my house not to need rewiring until I can stop buying cushions long enough to be able to afford it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'd put it in my dining room. I'm currently redecorating in there in blues and green (purrfect!)

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'd redecorate my little girl's bedroom as she has just declared, aged 5, that she hates pink! I thought her 'pink' phase might last a little longer - but no, the pink has to go. This shade would be great inspiration!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I would give it to my lovely sister so that she could put it in her bedroom and move the embroidered lampshade with a bird on it that's in there already into the landing, to replace the boring white shade there!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I would put in my spare room, it would match the decor and the shade in there is really worn out and on its last legs

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'd put it in my living room. I've put up with the awful Argos paper lampshade for a year now (the joys of renting) and this gorgeous one would look about a million times better!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Definitely in my bedroom as I have the cushion cover that matches and I would love to win this

    ReplyDelete
  52. I am moving to Canada soon and I will be moving into a new apartment as part of my gap year. I have recently found out that most apartments over there come unfurnished and while I would love to take this as an excuse to go wild and decorate to the style that I am accustomed to, unfortunately the gap year budget wont extend that far. So I would keep this in my living room as a little slice of home and a little slice of stylishness in the otherwise fairly bare room. It will be a center piece!

    ReplyDelete
  53. I would put it in my chill out room to remind me not to keep 'Russian' around.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It would just have to go in my daughter's bedroom as it would perfectly match her cherished Russian dolls.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'd have it in my newly refurbed VW camper van. Reckon it'd look atop my super kitsch Matteus Rose lamp base!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'd have it in my teeny tiny University bedroom hanging like a statement piece. I have a big Russian doll doorstop who sits on my desk so she'd feel at home with some other lovely dollies around her :) x

    ReplyDelete
  57. We moving into a gorgeous new flat on 18th Dec and this fab shade would be a wonderful housewarming present from you sooper sluttery girls! It would look lovely in the main bedroom hanging over the groovy mezzanine platform that's in there :)

  58. I would pop it on the landing at the top of the stairs, so I would definitely pass it several times a day and have a quick smile at it :o)

    ReplyDelete
  59. Hmm, tough choice! I would put it in our spare room because that room is really a nursery in waiting and this lampshade would be perfect addition to go alongside the other new addition we are planning next year ;)

    ReplyDelete
  60. I would put it in my bedroom in my flat. Because it's rented, I can't make all the modifications I'd want to (painting fabulous things on the walls, I'm not even reeeeally supposed to use blu-tack. But I have succumbed, and my deposit may reflect that!)

Having a beautiful lampshade like that would cheer the magnolia box up no end, and show that I'm not just another soul-less android student! Plus the lampshade I have right now is one of those cream paper lanterns you get at pound shops. Nice in the right setting, but it just sits flat and lifeless above my bed. Oh, for a lampshade with soul!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Definitely in my bedroom, in the hope that my boyfriend might take note of its prettiness, and refrain from hitting his head off the light every ten minutes.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Nice to hear you speak at tonights blogging event. I'd definitely put it in our bedroom, we could use some different light here.

    Cheers!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'd put it in my bedroom since I've still got the ugly boring dark lampshade that was there since I moved in and I've not found the budget for prettifying my bedroom yet :-( Although it would match the uber cheap Ikea curtain's I have managed to put up! *goes off to retweet*

  64. I would put it in my bedroom and it would go perfectly with my little collection of Russian Dolls!
