Cute or Creepy? Metal Wine Bottle Holders

Do you live in the sort of household where your wine bottles need protecting from pilferers by a small but fierce policeman made from scrap metal? If so, you're in luck, because some imaginative so-and-sos have used metal odds and ends such as screws, nuts, bolts and sheet metal to create these surreal wine bottle holders.

They've been hand-crafted and welded, so each one is unique, and they'd certainly be a talking point as a table centrepiece. This cops and robbers tableau is £20.94, from The Emporium Home on Amazon.
Know a motorbike enthusiast who's equally evangelical about their Merlot? Maybe this futuristic design might be more appropriate. This motorbike wine bottle holder is £29.99, again from Amazon. Just add a bottle of their favourite vino, and you've got the perfect present for the wine-supping Hell's Angel in your life.
How about an ornamental moustachioed chef wearing a bow tie, to make you feel like you're being waited on even when drinking alone? This cheeky chef is £14.99 from Amazon, and I can't help but find the details adorable. Look at his little whisk, belt buckle and polka-dot trousers!

What do you reckon? Endearing or downright weird? Know anyone who'd appreciate one of these? And what would your reaction be if you were presented with one?

  1. I have to say that these are definitely creepy. We got given one last christmas (a drummer of all things) and it went straight up into the loft. We eventually passed it on to someone else and they were able to use it as a gift to someone who actually played the drums.

  2. Agree with Bec on this- weird. My boyfriends dad has one of the chef ones. It looks like a cross between the swedish chef and the tin man. And it doesn't even have the saving grace of being practical- I like to be able to get at my wine quickly!

  3. Thanks for the comments ladies, sounds like these strange contraptions are more commonplace than I thought!

  4. We have a double bass playing one in the kitchen.
He's not too bad actually! He's in a similar style to the chef. I don't mind it.

  5. Hmm, they're not terrible but they do make me think of Regretsy immediately.

  6. Ah well, can't win 'em all! I still think the chef is sweet though...
