The Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Company

I have to admit, when The Gourmet Chocolate Pizza Company contacted Domestic Sluttery to ask if we wanted to sample their wares, I couldn’t help but hesitate. Chocolate Pizza? What kind of madness was this? Imagine it repeated several times in an incredulous Peter Kay - bamboozled - by - the - concept - of - garlic - bread voice, and you’ll appreciate my consternation. Admittedly, chocolate and pizza are two of my greatest loves when it comes to food-based self-indulgence, but the idea of combining them left me a little distressed.

Luckily, the “pizzas” are actually made from a delicious Belgian chocolate base, decorated and then delivered to your door in a cardboard pizza box. Thankfully, there’s no chocolate-covered dough, tomatoes or mozzarella in sight. Handcrafted by self-confessed chocoholics, the Gourmet Chocolate Pizza team use high-quality ingredients including dark, milk and white Belgian chocolate, vanilla fudge, honeycomb and marshmallows to create its unique collection of “pizzas.”

Perfect for sharing, the current special edition pizza is a Father’s Day design, featuring milk chocolate curls, rainbow drops and a chocolate message plaque at the centre of the slices. Or, there’s also a pizza for football fans, featuring honeycomb balls and colour-coded chocolate drops to match your favourite team’s colours. And if you only buy chocolate for your own consumption, might I recommend the Raspberrymac, which combines freeze-dried raspberries with white Belgian chocolate and Amaretti biscuits?

Prices start from £7.95, and if you can resist gorging them in one sitting, the pizzas have a shelf life of 1-6 months. Just don’t blame me if you feel a bit sick after eating a whole one to yourself.

  3. Very handy for boys methinks. And those weird people who think cupcakes are 'too girly'!

  6. It was AMAZING. They'd be a good addition to a buffet-style spread for house parties and things too I think.
