Cupcakes and Champagne: The Front Room at Flemings

It's the world's worst kept secret that we Domestic Sluts would like nothing better than to spend a vast proportion of our time drinking bubbly and eating uber-cute baked goods. Preferably sitting on comfy sofas, somewhere slightly hidden, in suitably opulent surroundings. We may have found the perfect place for our next secret London rendezvous.

We had a sneaky peak at the Front Room at Flemings which is a rather lovely idea. It's a contemporary clubroom in one of Mayfair's historic hotels, which is about to emerge from a major refurbishment program like a beautiful butterfly. Flit down here to enjoy a glass of Perrier-Jouet. Nestle into the outsized peridot velvet wingback chairs - perfect for a girly gossip. Ponder over which Primrose Bakery cupcake to choose (a different one each, and share). It's not just about the bubbly either, delightful as it is - and Alex has more to tell you about that.

Add this to the list of perfect little afternoon tea venues - though they will be open all day serving a variety of delicious options including their Savoury Martini Afternoon Tea, which I'm dying to try! But let's be honest, I think we're mostly after the cupcakes, no? It's the sort of place you'd take a girlfriend who needs a glamorous outing to cheer her up, or go with your mum after a pampering afternoon. You can imagine heading here to escape the hustle and bustle of the West End. Just five minutes walk from Green Park tube station, it's welcoming and friendly and you'll wish it was your front room...

The Front Room at Flemings will be serving Cupcakes and Champagne from mid-January, and bookings are essential.

  2. Oh, I want to go and be cheered up right this instant! It looks and sounds ace, and martini afternoon tea? Sounds right up my street!
