It's been a while, but I did find myself sipping a pint of the 'black stuff' last week. And right up until the point where I passed out on the sofa, I was rather enjoying it. It was after a night of champagne after all, I'm amazed I was even awake for that long. And then I remembered the cocktail recipe for the Black Velvet. Mixing my love for bubbly and decent beer in one lovely drink.You'll need these things:
- 75ml bubbly
- 25ml Guinness/ any other stout you happen to have left over from Christmas.
Pour the stout into a glass first (unless you want a whole mess of bubbles). Then pour the champagne into a champagne flute. Add the stout and stir. Cosy up on the sofa and be impressed that your lovely new cocktail only took five minutes to make. You can share the beer with your man/drinking companion/dog if you like. Flat Guinness doesn't work - don't try this again from the same can in half an hour.
