Where do you store you jewellery?

I spotted this jewellery stand (£22) on Postmoderndesigns and it's really unique. Looks a bit like a bird of paradise, don't you think? And much better than leaving all of your jewellery lying about the place and getting all tangled up.

I keep my jewellery on a bird cage (with all of my extra special trinkets hidden inside).

Where do you guys keep your jewellery? Do you dangle it about all over the place? Or do you have a canny storage solution?

  1. I have a gorgeous jewellery chest (shaped like a pirate's treasure chest, only smaller!!) with gorgeous wooden inlay, that I got as a gift from Qatar. Woohoo, middle eastern gorgeousness :)

  2. Oliver Bonas had some gorgeous golden metal bird designs ages ago - one is a mirror, one a set of branches with birds (for my earrings/bracelets)and a large round stand for necklaces. Brooches are on a glass tray and rings on a black display hand.

It was about £70 at the time, but I haven't bought new jewellery since as I could actually see what I had!

  3. I have this tree jewellery stand:

The little hoops are great for putting earrings through and there are so many branches to hang necklaces, bracelets etc from.

  4. I've got two of those slightly naff mini dressmaker's dummy jewellery trees with necklaces on, and then a set of three coat hooks on a high cabinet for the longer ones to hang from. Earrings are in a little cream coloured Laura Ashley jewellery box, and bangles in a big tin. I find everything gets really tangled so when I moved I made sure to sort everything out properly so I actually wear it!

  5. Someone very clever told me to wrap a scarf around each long necklace you wanted to take on you travels - then when you arrived you can just unwrap and everything is perfect! Great tip.

but my next purchase will have to be the little hatstand for jewellery - so perfect! http://www.urbanoutfitters.co.uk/Jewellery-Stand-Coat-Rack/invt/5559400120100&bklist=icat,5,shop,home,homecategories,hcushions

  7. I absolutely LOVE your blog! I'm Australian so I'm enjoying having a little taste of the European life.

Anyway. Accolades aside - I store my jewellery on my lovely wire cupcake stand. My mum bought me one of those pink swirly, three tier cupcake stands. I don't make cupcakes as often as I'd like to so instead of stuffing it back in its box - probably to be forgotten forever - I prop it in my room with my jewellery draped over it. I semi-sort my jewellery into colour coordinated sections too, in a bid to make it look a little more creative and a little less mess.

  8. I love your blog! I started selling jewelry on Ebay 6 years ago.I had a peg board and some hooks and hung my necklaces that I made on it. I t looked great and I could show off my pieces easily. Unfortunately I discovered that the pieces quickly started looking like crap!! All metal oxidizes when exposed to the air too much.Sterling Silver and gold vermeil quickly tarnish and even plated metals look bad quickly.I tell all my customers to store their pieces in zip-lock baggies. The jewelry stays new looking for years! I know its not very glamorous but wouldn't you prefer that your jewelry looked good instead?
On a related note however when I was in college we had a tiny tabletop christmas tree that was completely decorated with earrings and necklaces from my roommate and my jewelry box. It was actually quite adorable!
