Bugatti Kettle
I’d always figured that if someone said to me “Come and see this, it’s a kettle designed by a racing car company”, I’d automatically be mentally plotting my route to the nearest exit. However, when such a suggestion is uttered by one’s own mother, (whilst browsing the shiny
things in the kitchen department of Harrods no less), my curiosity was piqued and I found myself gawping over an appliance. May I introduce.... the Bugatti Vera kettle.
Bugatti are known for making high performance vehicles. So what’s with the kitchenware? Is this a high performance kettle? Well, it CAN boil a cup of water in under sixty seconds. The Vera also has fancy LED displays, a programmable timer and digital water level reader. And despite its disappointing name - which seems more mumsy than macchiato - it IS very sexy, and very slick, as one would expect from our Italian friends. It comes in red, orange, yellow, fuschia, lime, black, white and chrome. They all look fantastic - AND there are matching toasters as well (oooh don’t get me started). It’s a bit pricey (it retails at £185) but hey, it’s still cheaper than a sports car.
The best bit? Jeremy Clarkson can’t drive this - but he COULD make you a cup of tea with it, if he were so inclined. Which, given this kettle’s credentials, isn’t a completely impossible idea.
Available at many kitchen and homeware stores (including Harrods and John Lewis), or online at Cooking Time.
This was a guest post from the very lovely Claire Nelson. She's going to be a Domestic Slut for the next couple of months so show her some Sluttery love.

I can't pretend I wouldn't make vroooooming noises around the kitchen whilst making a cuppa.
ReplyDeleteErm, I have a friend that had a Porsche kettle, nice design bit not very durable :-( It didn't last a year.
