Design Porn: Emma Cowlam's Illustrated Life
I was smitten with Emma Cowlam's work before I'd even have a look at it in detail. The black outline makes for an eye-catching design and it was the first thing I spotted on my visit to new craft venue Homemade London (more about them tomorrow). But then I saw them properly, and realised that the outline isn't ink, it's thread.
Aren't they stunning? Even if they're were drawings, I'd think these were lovely, but the thread makes them so unique and special.
The fashion-inspired designs are so simple, but they've really captured my heart. I get excited about new designers all the time, but these are going to stick in my mind for a long time. Might even get something commissioned. She's got a range of cards too (they're the inked versions) so they might suit smaller budgets and make someone very happy.
