If you're on the small side, shopping for dresses can be a nightmare (actually, shopping for anything can be troublesome). If one part of a dress doesn't fit right, the rest will look wrong. Properly proportioned dresses can make you look and feel amazing, just as an ill-fitting one can feel all wrong, whatever size you are.
I've heard excellent things about the petites section in Miss Selfridge, and I've been willing them to make this little black dress in a standard size as well be I heart it so. That model's waist looks amazing. It's the perfect shape and I'm loving the sweetheart neckline. It's currently only available to the petite girls amongst you but it's a bargainous £40, so if you shop in the petites section, you should snap this up. I'll be jealous, but you'll be super happy and look very pretty indeed.
This is a stunning dress - at 5'11 - all I can do is look longingly.... we're none of us happy with what we have.... me mainly with the fact that there are LOADS of petite ranges and a vary limited number of options for us taller ladies.

You make a good point, Anon. We don't often write about petite ranges specifically, or indeed stuff for taller ladies. This is something we're going to try and address from now on, so hopefully we'll find you some awesome stuff soon.

ReplyDeleteI feel Anon's pain (and yours!) - I'm 5'10" and it is SO difficult to find dresses or skirts to fit when you're outside the average dimensions. Fortunately lots of ladies wear heels with jeans, so finding a long pair of those isn't a problem! Very pleased that knee- and shin-length skirts are back in, so we tall ones have a nice above-the-knee range to choose from, at last :)
