Cocktail Hour: Imperial Martini

I understand why people like martinis. There is no cleaner tasting cocktail. But they're too strong for me and I need something to take them down a notch or six. Olive water does not a mixer make. But, the Imperial Martini might just work for me. Sweet enough to take that harsh edge off, but there's still a balance, and a bit of a kick as well.

You'll need:
  • 75ml gin
  • 25ml sweet vermouth
  • 1/2 tsp cherry liqueur
  • Dash of Angostura bitters
Shake it!

Add all the ingredients to a mixing glass with ice, stir well and strain into a martini glass. Serve with your favourite people. Martinis should always be drunk with your favourite people.

  1. Oh, great recipe! I've never been a fan of a plain martini, and I love sweet vermouth like nobody's business.
