For the uninitiated, this drink is to all intents and purposes like a conventional sour but with the addition of a delicious red wine float. Try it and you'll never look back.
You'll need:
- 50ml of bourbon or rye
- 25ml lemon juice
- 25ml sugar syrup (or agave if you want to be lazy, you probably want to be lazy)
- 25ml of red wine
- Add the whisky, lemon juice and sugar syrup to a cocktail shaker.
- Add ice.
- Shake for 10 seconds.
- Strain into a tumbler.
- Slowly pour the red wine over a bar spoon into the glass, creating a layer of red wine that sits on top of the sour.
