In all its forms, almond is a terrific ingredient. So terrific that if you take your eyes off us for a second, we've probably added it to your dinner/cake/breakfast/cup of tea. It also has the added benefit of making some of our favourite things gluten free. We've already given you a top ten meringue recipes round up, but our love for almonds doesn't end there.
Let's start with amaretto. Because of totally legitimate Monday reasons. This amaretto and almond cake is the perfect place to begin our nutty adventures.
We could also put amaretto in raspberry jammy dodger hearts. If you've got any left after making bakewell tartinis.
These amaretti biscuits are gluten free and they'd make the loveliest gift. For us. Give them to us. Or make us almond biscotti!
Do you have any ground almonds in your cupboard? Go and buy some immediately. You can make the best things with ground almonds. Like fortune cookies! And flourless chocolate cake. Snowstorm cupcakes - they have a meringue frosting. Even our famed limoncello and white chocolate cake has ground almonds in.
You know what almonds are the best of friends with? ALL OF THE FRUITS! We want blueberry friands, blackcurrant bakewell cake, raspberry revenge cake (or frangipane cake, we're easy) and lemon basil and almond cake.
Got flaked almonds? We've got loads of uses for those as well. Make these speedy spiced almond biscuits, a honey and almond cake or maybe even a rhubarb almond cake. And of course, you have to make some mini Bakewell tarts.
