Win! A free range turkey from Donald Russell

On the 3rd day of Christmas, Domestic Sluttery gave to me... a huge free-range Donald Russell turkey.

It simply wouldn't be Christmas without turkey. Whether you tuck in to a Pret Christmas sandwich, have a couple of slices at your work Christmas dinner, or you sit down with your entire family and get trashed and ruin the huge beast, at some point over Christmas you'll probably have some turkey. So it's handy that yummy meat suppliers Donald Russell are offering you guys the chance to win one. Hurrah! (Yeah, we're expecting a polite but out of obligation Christmas invite from whoever wins today).

You've got two chances to win today. Either leave a comment below telling us your favourite bit about Christmas dinner. Or! Tweet to win! Tweet something like "My favourite thing about Christmas dinner is..." and use the hashtag #DomesticSlutteryChristmas so we can see your answers! You can do both if you like, we're cool with that. Tweet more than once and we'll have to beat you to death with a frozen turkey. (By the way, if your favourite bit is the cranberry sauce, we're totally going to judge you. Cranberry sauce isn't food.)

You've got until midnight to win tonight (because we're going to be in the pub) so get entering and we'll tell you who won tomorrow.

Curious who won our last competition? You guys LOVE  bit of Rob Ryan so there was a lot of entries! The winner was one Philippa Boston! Here's what she's eating on Christmas morning:

Bucks fizz and chocolate - then present opening probably with coffee and more chocolate!

Congratulations, Philippa! That sounds perfect. Just email us to claim your prize.

Mega good luck wishes to the rest of you entering today!

Oh yawn, small print (read it). The competition will close at Midnight on December 5th. You must be UK based AND leave a name with your comment so that we know who you are! If you're anon your entry won't count and if you enter more than once, we'll discount all of your entries and tell you off. If you take ages sorting out your prize, Donald Russell totally reserve the right to change your prize. If you've won one competition, let someone else have a bash and go and play with your toys! We're not allowed to enter our own competitions, but Siany wants to steal your roast potatoes.

  2. My favourite bit about Christmas dinner is choosing wines for each course, then accidentally starting on them whilst I'm cooking and running out a course early. Many's the Christmas day dessert which has been accompanied by impromptu ginger wine or - on one shameful occasion - novelty ale...

For the last few years I've been sole in charge of the dinner for me & my other half and as much as the feminist in me rails against it, I love doing it, it has to be the most satisfying meal to cook and present to the people you love most. And of course everything tastes better when you know you can pass the washing up on to those that didn't cook!! :)

Its a toss up between enormous spoonfuls of bread sauce plonked all over the turkey or the enormous stilton my mother buys each year and then takes about a month to eat. That or the wheel of brie (partly because it is a WHOLE WHEEL) and the way it gets more mobile and gooey as Christmas week goes on.

  111. My favourite part of Christmas dinner? The second part. The evening bash at my second mothers where here entire extended family and few waifs and strays, myself included, all end up at her house. She puts on a huge spread of turkey, ham (covered in Dijon mustard!!mmm), roast spuds, spring rolls, bhajis and profiteroles etc - so much more!!!. If you get up from your seat, you've lost it for good. She took me in a few Christmas's ago after I had a rather large row with my biological family. Since then I always go to hers if it gets too much. The door is always open and she treats me like her own flesh and blood.I'd give her the turkey just so there's enough to feed us all and more.
