Pick Up A Penguin: A Raft of Homewares
Sara mentioned a "Christmas Penguin" in her brilliant Petite Girls shop round-up yesterday. This apparently does appear to be a thing. Penguins are waddling and flapping over virtually everything at the moment - really your home isn't ready for winter without one.
And it's a trend that's completely delightful. During the long dark nights, what else could you want to light up your life other than a penguin lamp? The fellow above is from House of Fraser and is currently reduced to £35. And Abigail Ahern has got one in her Debenhams range. Or - for really practical help in the dark - TCH are selling a penguin torch.
There are plenty of ornamental penguins around too. The Design Museum shop is selling Tux Penguins - flat pack penguins which can brighten up any wintery outlook. They're £4.95 each.
Or how about this decorative penguin, available for £16.95 from Selfridges? At 19cm high, he's quite a substantial edition to any nest.
And for a really luxury option, this extremely cute but stylish mahogany penguin is available for £65 from Liberty.
You can easily cosy on up with a penguin. I love Isak's Penguin blankets, and they're all over Cath Kidston at the moment as well. You can buy a patterned bath towel for £27, though I wouldn't mind the cardigown for my waddling robe.
And finally, penguins are fun to play with too. I'll be keeping myself occupied from now until spring with this penguins domino set, £50 from the Southbank Centre. Oh, and a five month supply of these too.

Ooo, lovely - the penguins are EVERYWHERE at the moment.
DeleteThese are amazing. I love your penguin round up. It's so hard to buy everything. I think the towels are my favourite.
ReplyDeleteThank you! They are lovely, aren't they? They look so cosy.
DeleteDon't forget these: http://www.hotelchocolat.com/uk/shop/christmas/chilli-penguins.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Yum.
DeleteCool stuff overload, my family will be pleased - all my Christmas presents in one handy guide!!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Penguin presents all round!
DeleteLove these. I've got a little obsessed with penguins lately since my little girl has got unusually attached to a cuddly penguin toy. Her first birthday party at the weekend is naturally penguin themed. Everything here is considerably more stylish though than the paper plates and balloons I've stocked up on. Loving the tux penguins - may just have to get some as decorations over the festive period.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely theme for a party! Have a brill time.
