The Golden Touch
I don't really like gold. I never have. For me, it's a little bit too showy (especially if I'm wearing it). But a little touch here, a little detail there and it can look pretty good. So I'm happy to wear gold shoes, and have little a gold cushion or trim hidden about the place, but no more than that.
But sometimes, I decide that I want to break all of my rules and I've put these gold espresso cups right at the top of my 'silly things I want to buy' list (don't laugh, it's a real list). I adore them. Maybe it's because they're so tiny, but whatever it is they're totally doing it for me. They're from BeGolden (yes, where everything is gold) and there's 15% off so they're £25.50 for a set of six.

I used to hate gold, I used to think it was really brassy (I blame young adulthood in the 90s when posh = silver and minimal) - last year I started to love it again. Not all over but a touch here and there (I have a gold scarf on with my work LBD today for example). It's quite a warming colour when done nicely, and a touch gives an expensive, rather than showy look. Just enough and not too much!
ReplyDeleteI've been banned from purchasing any new drinking recepticles, drink cabinet and cupboards are full. I might have to have an 'accident' washing up to make some room for new cups!!
