Sluttery Travels: Fort Augustus Abbey, Scotland
I'm taking Sluttery Travels further north today, all the way to Scotland. Perched on the Southern end of Loch Ness is Fort Augustus Abbey. See, I really want to stay in the monastery's Scriptorium, the little secret room especially for writing secret things. I love writing secret things.
The Scriptorium has now been turned into a one bedroom apartment, over two floors. And with all of the original features and stained-glass windows, it's really rather enchanting.
The Abbey dates back to 1876 and it was home to a Benedictine Order of monks. It's now rented out for as little as £300 for a weekend, or £450 for an entire week. Basically a whole week of long walks, cups of tea, book reading and writing secret things by candlelight.
You also get full use of the fancy Highland Club, which gives you spa and lounge access in the old church rectory. Although I'm not entirely sure why you'd ever want to leave your little apartment.
Want to know more? Check out The Old Church website, for details of Fort Augustus Abbey and The Old Church (I apologise in advance for the church bells on the website).

If I had a car, I would be dragging the Boy north immediately :) It's so cute!
